The problem isn't Knights shieldstunning/slashing people to death, rather it's Aslaran shieldstunning that can almost permanently shut someone down, as you, Ceres, and now Murphy have all demonstrated. No, the problem isn't with Knight or shieldstunning, it's Aslaran speed.

It didn't look that close to a permanent shutdown to me.

Frankly, I'm wondering what aslaran are supposed to be able to do. Speed is almost worthless and every time someone uses speed at all usefully, people complain about it and want it taken away. What exactly did I take these experience and sipping penalties for, again? The racial language whose name keeps changing, is that it?

Seems like the above log proved that aslaran shieldstun is definitively not a showstopper attack. I don't know why you're reading it and getting the opposite conclusion. I read it and think, why bother? He'd probably have done better to use that time on the other flail. About all he'd've done well against is someone whose reflexes don't handle stun well.

I have no problem with Aslaran being able to hit faster or sling runes faster. However, when they are able to shieldstun to a point where I have less than a second and a half to recover balance, I'd think that would be a bit much. From the log there are times I could get 3 commands in right after unstunning before I would get stunned once again.



In that one case, I got one command through before I was stunned once again. Tell me how is that even balanced? I didn't even have time to sip health or eat sparkleberry in that time span.

It's balanced because if he does it, he halves his offence and only generates damage to the level that you can easily tank it. Everyone has bursts of lag.

I realize that I'm a Merian but Murphy still does a good bit of damage against races with no lightning resistance. And it doesn't matter if his offence is halved if I don't get a chance to sip or eat sparkleberry, now does it?

I don't see why shieldstun needs to be so effective. In teams, it's basically instant death when a knight (high str) uses it. Stun isn't something which should appear so frequently in combat. Especially not in passive effects (demesnes, angels).

Remove stun entirely and I'd be happy.

If this forum made the decisions, no one would have any offensive capabilities anymore, because the answer to every "someone hurt me!" thread is "take away that offensive capability!" The last person I'd expect to hear jumping on this bandwagon is a blademaster.

Notice that 1) I didn't ask for shieldstun to be taken away, just it toned down to a bearable level and 2) Ceres is a Bonecrusher who wants to be ungodly at any classes she's in.
