I have been asked by some of our IRE collegues, that if you link to someone's private site, or take thier avatars, animated gifs, sigs, etc. That you give them credit AND/OR ask permision to use thier creative content.

Yes, people steal from sites all over the net all the time, but when your in the community and you know you are getting the content from soemone else in the same community, its better to give credit. You should be giving credit in general anyways, but other IRE players are more likely to complain than some random guy.

Especially when some poeple have bandwith limits on thier sites.

Thank you.

Signatures have started to get out of hand lately. While we realise people want to have various things in their signature, it makes reading the forums a chore when 2/3rds of a thread is reading people's signatures. As such, signatures are no longer allowed to be more than 300 pixels in height. This allows for you to have a signature image and a line or two of text under it, or allow you a couple of your favourite quotes.

If there are things you really like, that people said about you, save them somewhere special.

If we feel your signature is to big you may find it changed to something we feel is no longer to big.

A standard avatar image and credit to who made it are reasonable signatures.

Two single line quotes in quote box format are also reasonable signatures.

More than that is subject to our banner.

Editted as people asked for a pixel hieght to be used instead, due to resolution differences.
