I fed 10 sandwhiches and went from 5 months to:
This golden horse strikes a truly regal bearing, her proud form filling the
room with a soft radiance that speaks of celestial heritage. Two great golden
wings sprout from her back, covered in many brilliantly sparkling feathers and
appearing strong enough to carry many times her own weight. The pegasus has two
azure blue eyes that regard the world with a silent intensity and speak of
intelligence beyond that of a regular horse or pegasus.
Aestra, the golden pegasus has an air of extreme strength.
He weighs about 1875 pounds.
His feedbag is getting low. It will last him approximately 10 months.
He is mountable as a legendary steed.
He is loyal to Hajamin, the Golden Lord.
You see nothing in it.
Then about a minute later:

Aestra, the golden pegasus exudes an aura of overwhelming power.
He weighs about 1875 pounds.
His feedbag is nearly empty! He will starve in approximately 8 months.
He is mountable as a legendary steed.
He is loyal to Hajamin, the Golden Lord.
You see nothing in it.
Scary!

Yeah... She's a hungry thing, I slipped her a little divine snack. That should hold her over for awhile.

Mounts do not eat meat. Last time I was in Lusternia, there weren't any non-ham sandwiches. Feed the horses with grass or something!

Also, the pegasus seems to be a hermaphrodite:
Two great golden wings sprout from her back,
He is mountable as a legendary steed.

QUOTE(HELP RIDING)
Once you've bought yourself a mount, you're going to need to keep it fed. Every mount has a feedbag on it that you can put food of any kind into. A horse may not like to eat a goose drumstick, but when it's hungry enough, it will!
Though I have tried to get Brylle to make some kind of "hay, oats, dried peas, and apple cores platter" or the like to feed my horse because I can't bear the RP of having bread be the closest thing I can find. But she told me the closest thing the Charites would allow was a loaf of nut mash bread or some such, and even that's not yet available.
It's kind of funny that I can forage nuts and berries (but I don't, since aslaran are carnivores) but my horse can't forage (nor can I give him the nuts and berries I find), so I have to feed him bread and sandwiches.

A riding skill that while on grassland or forest, you can let your mount forage for food, low sustance, but better than rping the ham

i make a point of not getting into the complications of having a mount

Heh.. You just don't want to go through the credits to make it _worth_ something, right?
