*sing* To do it right now!
Sorry... that song was stuck in my head.
Anyway, to that issue... Since we have quite a few possibilities for new divine, per the histories, when we eventually get more, are we ever going to get some that are active at wierd times of the day, from different places? I think we've got the U.S. and the U.k. covered (correct me if I'm wrong), but it would be neat to see an Aussie god, so that when I'm on at 11pm pst, there are active Divine, and minor events can happen.
I wonder how large the staff will get eventually...
Thoughts?

Last time there was an Aussie god, Scarlatti decided to ignore Sarapis saying that he couldn't marry a mortal and thus got the royal boot.

Poor Fain, all buggered by wedding presents because of some Aussie.

No offense but i hope this isnt a reason to never allow any Aussie gods because if it is, then it is the dumbest one i have ever heard.
Anyone remember Caspian? For all i know, he was American. I will not say what he did (for the sake of the young ones who are reading this board) but he messed up pretty bad. Does that mean all American gods are the same? Hardly.
Richter2005-03-17 06:40:16
First, this isn't me trying to get an aussie god in. I don't know where that came from. I was just thinking that maybe someday, the gods would be on 24/7.
Second, I don't get where the reference to Caspian came from. Even I, a Lusternian/Aetolian only, have heard about that, but the relevance to the topic was lost on me.

The point is, both did something bad (on a different level, i admit). I probably just misunderstood Asarnil's post, but it sounded like he was against an Aussie god because the last one didnt obey the big boss. I pointed out another example that didnt stop gods of the same citizenship to come in.
Anyway, i'm done with that creepy stuff
Dritex2005-03-17 07:10:08
I like this idea, just so long as there are a billion gods. It's nice to have many peopel around to help run things, but the numbers can get to a point where it's just, "Wait, what does this god(dess) do again?"
Daganev2005-03-17 07:25:55
I just hope they replace inactive gods with new people and RP the change in personality, rather than create new gods and leave people who worshiped the old ones in the dust.
Dritex2005-03-17 08:20:40
That's a good point too.
Unknown2005-03-17 08:25:17
What about a new evil god *nudge nudge* Well an Aussie God would be nice, though there seems to be one or two on when i'm on anyway, i dont think we'll need many more gods until one or two Cities or Communes come out
Nokraenom2005-03-17 08:50:37
Or we could be like the Romans and have...
Jeff, God of Biscuits, and
Simon, God of Hairdo's

I dont think the divine will go for this at least for a while since so few people come from odd places it'll be hard for them to pick appropiate people for the jobs.
Auseklis2005-03-17 12:08:12
There are actually very few times when there is not a divine on (or who could potentially be). The events don't always happen then, partially because they need quite a few people to run, and partially because there aren't always that many players on then.

Cookies! Not biscuits. Cookies!
Now that I think of it... Auskelis's avatar could be a cookie with a not-so-tiny stretch of the imagination.

I wish there was more of a visible presence, it has a morale effect on the rest of us.
How many people are required for an event? There are usually 50 or so people on during the dead of night.
