I was just thinking, Lusternia seemed so cool at first, but there's some basic problems with it.

For one, the politics newsboard is really sad. Village A left city A, village A went back to city A. Never any actual change that I've seen since Magnagora started getting teamed up on.

Two, Buho says that the secrets of knight combat just haven't been figured out by anyone yet. The game's been up for a year and no one's figured it out yet? So knight combat in the game has sucked for a year. And if no one figures it out, it will always suck. But if they want to sit back and say "Bwahaha, big secret" then hey, nothing I can do about it.

So yeah, there's my thoughts. I used to love this game, but now I just shake my head whenever I click the Lusternia icon on my zMUD to see if anything's changed and it's just announcing more of the same.

Umm... bye then!

The game's been up for a YEAR? :/ I've been here since open BETA day one, and that's about half a year.

Raan, uhh.. what do you do again? ninja.gif

Jello, those are your ONLY complaints?
Raan2005-03-18 01:26:51
Seems to be Im reduced to moderating between squabling guildmates lately... OOCly Im seeing if I can get someone to let me test drive a Ford GT...
Unknown2005-03-18 01:28:53
Gimme the car. Err..

On Topic though:

Jello, you gotta list some concrete stuff when you complain. Blademaster is probably due out for some changes if -that's- what's on your mind, but otherwise... meh. Don't know what to tell you.
Raan2005-03-18 01:31:33
I might go for the C5R instead... decisions decisions...
Asarnil2005-03-18 01:34:53
Jel hasn't really been around much for the last few weeks to a month - but he is a Blademaster so I will give you two guesses as to which specialisation he was peeved off about, and we REALLY need more complaints about the specifics in that.

The politics thing is pretty much self explanatory - its been stale for ages.
Unknown2005-03-18 01:43:22
Weeell.. what would you all suggest about updating politics?

I'd suggest something with the non-village influencable areas (I.E. Tosha) where debates could be held and the winning city/commune receives a blessing while under the influence of that area.

Example:

Tosha Pits reward: Higher EXP gain/Lower EXP loss for the city/commune that holds its influence. (Goes with the whole enlightenment thing)

Doesn't necessarily have to be a debate, could be a new system. Just something most city/commune people can do (Maybe make it a rank priv?).

Just throwing out ideas.

Edit: Why is it that I post and everyone leaves the topic!! sad.gif
Erion2005-03-18 03:29:07
....Tosha Pits goes with the Tosha Monastery, which isn't a village.

You're missing the point. tongue.gif

Seriously, why do we even have the village influencing system? It takes a city on average 15 minutes to retake one that they had before. Nothing ever changes.
Shiri2005-03-19 23:43:02
That's not on average. That's record breaking time in a village where we had about 10 CR4s working at it, and Magnagorans got about 2 mobiles at best. (Possibly TINY exaggeration on the latter, but I doubt by much. dry.gif) The easiest village, as I say, but it's still up in the air whether I or Gwylifar are right.

Well, I'm assuming Estelbar leans towards Serenwilde, just like Acknor leans towards Mag and Delport leans towards Celest. And since the dwarf areas are mutually exlusive as well, that leaves only 2 villages (Stewartsville and Dairuchi) that would have a chance of turn over doesn't it?
Shamarah2005-03-19 23:49:49
None of the villages "lean" towards a city, except due to the city holding a rival village.
Shiri2005-03-19 23:53:05
The dwarf areas aren't mutually exclusive - you just can't have angkrag and one of the others. You COULD have Southgard & Rockholm, it'd just be hard. Stewartsville & Delport and Estelbar & Acknor are opposed as well - as in, it's harder to influence any one.

Gwylifar theorised that it might just be me being a Furrikin, but I can't say I remember it ever being said that had an effect.
Roark2005-03-19 23:54:43
As stated before, no village leans towards a city other than being repulsed by you if you own a rival. Thus since Celest has Delport, Magnagora and Serenwilde have an equal chance of grabbing Stewartsville. Stewartsville only leans against Celest, but not towards anyone. And if Celest ever loses Delpor, Stewartsville will cease to lean against it.

I was under the impression that lots of the mobiles in the chateu de amor can't be influenced by Magnagorans, I know we've tried it and been rejected by them many times. I'm not sure if they resist Serenwilders as well though.
Shiri2005-03-20 00:12:11
You sure you weren't enemied?
