We should introduce heraldry into Lusternia. Achaea did this. It'd be great here.

QUOTE
Heraldry (symbols identifiable with individuals or families) originated as a way to identify knights in battle or in tournaments. With the advent of the "great" helm an individual's face became concealed. It therefore became necessary to create a method to distinguish ally from enemy.

Basically, certain items would be emblazoned with your heraldric symbol. Shields, armour..etc.

I thought I heard everyone complain about Achaean heraldry, that it was to complex and convoluted to be a workable system.

I never played Achaea but is sounds like a great idea that i would like to have implemented.

Yeah, if I have a greathelm on, why can you tell it's me? *mutter*

Though, the blue armour might be a giveaway.

We should have heraldry, but it should be easier to understand than Clem's Achaea Heraldry (which was nuts).

EDIT: I wouldn't rank this as a very high priority.

OMG,

I would love to have a heraldry skill. I tried to work one up for Aetolia but due to rl concerns was never really able to go anywhere with it.

Malicia PM me if you want to chat about it...

Achaea hereldry in theory sounds cool.....who wouldnt want a shield or family logo?

but....

they got all nerdy on it and who ever was in charge went bonkers so that even when you read a heraldry description you get the Charge and bla bla bla stuff when all people want to see is.....You have a DRAGON or a KNIGHT...but instead you get all the crap about charges and fields and all the other techno junk.

They made a major misstep on hereldry in that they took it to a level that only caters to 10%...if that...of their market...vs the 90% that just wants to actually SEE what the hell their coat of arms is vs all the techno geek education bable they installed.

Id LOVE to see heraldry.....IF...you actually saw what it was you made, vs some techno geeks wet dream english lit wanna be version.

Gules, a flail Or, enflamed proper, within a bordure rayonny Or.

Heraldry is too medieval fantasy for Lusternia. Just no.

This brightly-coloured heraldic pennon waves gaily in the wind, cascading in ripples across its length.
It bears the guild arms of the Sentinels: Vert, on a chevron Or, a wolf courant contourny Sable.

Otherwise known as: a black wolf running facing right on a gold chevron, on a green background.

I loved heraldry, although I do think that you should see the modern description when probing, but use the heraldry descriptions for honours, etc, whenever you don't really see it.
