Since leaving the Hartstone and joining the Geomancers I've got to work with both demesnes so now I just want to hear your opinions on which one you think is ultimately most powerful
okay edited! thanks Shiri

now not know heh.
Asarnil2005-03-28 02:39:51
You ARE talking about just the demense in istelf without any other skills aren't you? Because thats where I put my vote.
Athana2005-03-28 02:40:26
Yes
Shiri2005-03-28 02:40:50
You can edit, y'know.
Erm...hm.
I'm going Geos. Stupid hunger. I actually found the Hartstone one not-too-bad to cope with, but this was vs. a dreamweaver, not a runist, so that might have had something to do with it. Aquas/Geos both seem kinda tough, but Geos has the more permanent effect, sooo.

invoke orange
Shiri2005-03-28 02:42:26
Highmagic users don't have that mind. Right, though. (Although that doesn't last for a huge amount of time.) (And costs 3p.)
Anyway, g'night!
Anyway, g'night!

Having to invoke orange limits our choices of feats to use, and you're still screwed if you have Highmagic.

Geomancer's demesne is especially worse if they took Dreamweaving.

Yes, but we aren't talking about all the extra skills. We are talking about the demense in and of itself - no motes, no runes, nothing.
Gwylifar2005-03-28 14:05:00
Frankly, I think they come out pretty close to even.
Shiri2005-03-28 15:45:42
I'm curious - who voted for the Aquamancy one, and why? (I'm guessing you didn't realise it was demesne only, sans motes/runes/etc. and thought "dilute", right?)
Gwylifar2005-03-28 16:38:28
Aquamancy demesne is nothing to sneeze at, particularly for people who don't have Trout and Lake spirits or Fluidswim. Passive stunning, even for a short period, is a very nice thing to have, for instance. Frankly I think people just haven't seen it used as well as it can be because only a handful of people have done much with it.
Amaru2005-03-28 16:44:50
They're all frigging overpowered.

haha, I knew someone would say that
Manjanaia2005-03-28 16:48:17
Well they are. Especially in influence season. The side with the demesne wins.

Oh yeah. I don't think needles strips trout (right?) and only like 4 people have environment, so I can see how that might be a problem.
EDIT: And I wasn't saying it was bad. Heck no. I hate the thing. I can't really cope with it. But it's not as bad as the other two, I think.
Manjanaia2005-03-28 16:50:18
Even if you have waterbreathe/trout etc, doesn't stillwater nullify that?
Ceres2005-03-28 17:32:33
Geomancer.
