Necromancy upgrades for a downgraded lichdom

Back to Ideas.

While I think it's fine overall, perhaps Lusternia should be different and take out the soulcage motiff, giving necromancy offensive upgrades instead. They'd have to be huge upgrades though to compensate for the loss of such a powerful ability. Here's my ideas.

Lichdom is a passive state that has the stat bonus and whenever you deal damage to someone, a percentage of that damage is turned into health for you.

Contagion's range of afflictions is increased to where a good system can't instantly heal it, and it goes off more quickly. Add ectoplasm to the afflictions it can give.

Leech in necromancy is actually made better than the amissio ritual.

Putrefaction health drain is decreased.

Crucify eq and power cost is lowered and it breaks limbs more quickly.

Raise dead in necromancy can raise characters as liches.

1) This would be absurd, especially for people like Ixion that does 2000 damage every 2 swings, he would never die.
2) Pray tell how can you instantly cure from Contagion when its afflictions vary from rigomortis to broken limbs to pox? Ectoplasm is way too good to be made a passive effect, especially since it costs no powers already.
3) I agree with this.
4) For the level of protection that Putrefaction gives? 33% to blunt and cutting last time I heard and costing no power to cast or upkeep. You're kidding me if you think the health drain should be lowered.
5) Crucify is permanent anorexia + slickness + immobility + constant limb breaking. Making the eq and power cost way too low would make it too easy to sacrifice people.
6) So wrong on so many levels, it's not even funny. Undead Geomancers walking around with 18 intelligence and 15 constitution is just plain wrong.

i think jello was kidding... on the bright side ill go lich you for more powerful moonbursts at night... promise

oh contagion doesnt break arms (i think i dont exactly get hit with contagion now-a-days) rigormortis does that.

not too low on crucify for eq... actually i think its fine but the power is a bit harsh.

By instantly heal contagion he means that If someone uses contagion, every single one of its effects can be healed well before it hits again.

The point is, you guys are saying downgrade necromancy, without offering any ideas for upgrades. You can't expect the overall strength of your opponents to be decreased. Almost a year into the game's running, the gods surely think things are pretty close to balanced overall. If lichdom is taken out or nerfed majorly, something equally good will be going in.

Sure they can.

I'm fully expecting the moon to just dissapear one day so that the entire Moon totem is useless.

Now there's a thought!

See, the moon is just a big rock, right? So, logically, a Geomancer -should- be able to screw with it, right? So, we cast say...Lodestone! Yes, Lodestone, and then we -enemy- the moon, the moon will come crashing down into the Basin!

As a side note, remind me to try this in Serenwilde, and -not- Magnagora.

Or at least, Celest.

Do it! That would make some awesome roleplay, but maybe the closeness of the Moon would screw you over more. It'd always be full.. ninja.gif

Unless Lusternia has some whack planetary arrangement, distance shouldn't matter to moon phases, unless light reflected off of the surface of the Basin began to visibly light up the surface of the moon.

Actually, the physical Moon is just a representation of the Spirit of Mother Moon so... no.

You ruined it.

I hope they hunt the avatars now and then demesne the moon. ninja.gif

That's what I thought, but then Roark got all weird about it, so I'm not so sure now.
