Perhaps defiling a shrine should drop any shields that go down when you make an aggressive action (not sure if serpent is such a skill, but in general I think this would be reasonable).

and richter its beyond a good use of the skill. A good use of this skill would have been to escape from my wrath at the shrine, and being able to escape. Its rediculous that one person can serpent up, and take down a shrine leaving them unkillable in the presence of overwhelming odds.
Just make defiling an agressive action that drops serpent and it'll be more balanced

I agree serpent should not stay up while defiling, I really don't think that fits with either the intention of the skill or the general nature of the skillset. By that, I mean defilling shrines is not a specific action the skillset encourages its users to do. I can only assume it was an oversight.

Defiling as an aggressive action makes sense. It should break shields and rebounding too for the same reasons. Just like how you can't do it while graced (you can't, right?).

You never know what you are talking about so this isn't a shock but many many attacks go through prismatic barrier. If you took the time to discover them, life wouldn't be so cruel.
