I specified that the Aslaran is a Grey Moors Aslaran (don't know if that would make a difference in your vote).

I've at least been playing that the differences between them and we northern tribes are more cultural (and small ones at that), not physical, anyway. (Of course Gwylifar has some unusual coloration, but it's unusual in the north too.) Is that contradicting canon?

Maybe we'll see an armoured aslaran someday. *sigh*
