Make it so they can't wisp me into the air. Wisp works in forests, not the sky. =\\ It doesn't make any sense, ICly or OOCly.
Sylphas2005-04-16 20:15:22
It could work in the sky, conceivably, but how the hell do you follow the wisp into the sky if you can't fly? It should summon you to the ground beneath them, same with wisping in trees.
Erion2005-04-16 20:16:06
Yea. =\\
Nyla2005-04-16 20:58:54
Geomancers demesne work in the air. WHy not wisp
Shamarah2005-04-16 21:00:24
Because that's an effect specifically designed to pull you down from the air to the ground. None of the other effects do that.
Erion2005-04-16 21:10:33
Because the idea of a wisp is this. The wisp comes, you go into a trance, and follow it. How could I, a Merian, with no (working) wings, fly up to follow the wisp?
Shiri2005-04-16 21:12:17
Of course, using that logic, monoliths wouldn't stop it. Unless the willowisp bobs in a really weird fashion and you snag your foot on the monolith and...no, that wouldn't work either, since you don't go prone. :/
Soll2005-04-16 21:23:11
Maybe they're allergic to the sigils' vibrations or what-not.
Shiri2005-04-16 21:26:35
They don't mind bringing people ONTO monoliths.
Soll2005-04-16 21:32:01
Ahah, but that's because it's a suicide mission. They dissolve after doing it.
Shiri2005-04-16 21:41:34
...that doesn't make sense.
But they dissolve if they fail too.
But they dissolve if they fail too.
Sylphas2005-04-16 21:47:32
The skill was designed before it was stopped by monoliths. That's a game mechanics thing that they had to throw on later.
Silvanus2005-04-17 00:03:23
You can't demesne summon if someone is in the air.
Shiri2005-04-17 00:08:58
Can you demesne summon if YOU'RE in the air? (Not that it matters for anyone except Jello. And Geb if he feels like it. )
Silvanus2005-04-17 00:14:50
No, you cannot.
Elryn2005-04-17 00:22:48
This fix (I wouldn't really call it a downgrade) makes sense to me.
If the target is on the ground, in the trees, or in the air they can be wisped, but the wisper must either be on the ground or in the trees.

Unknown2005-04-17 00:42:53
Wisp should pull off monolith, but should not drag into the air. Screw this stuff about the vibes affecting the wisp, the wisp can just hover right outside of the range of the vibes and trance the player there.
Drago2005-04-17 00:46:21
Because everyone wants an unstoppable summoning ability.
Unknown2005-04-17 00:47:54
Sure, it would be unstoppable. But put in a time delay while the wisp wanders out to get the player and then wanders back. Also, summoning lets you pull into the air. This doesn't.
Shiri2005-04-17 00:55:20
Like Demesne summon, Drago?
