Tainted Nature

So, I'm waiting to hear from the peanut gallery why Nature and Taint can't mix, now that There are Great spirits, and Fae in the glomdoring....

And all with Mother night, with all the nightly aspects that belong to them.

I expect soon a Night Mare spirit will apear, as for the third, I can't figure it out based on websites,, could be a bird, or a snake, or a spider.

Meh. This arguement has been overdone. Let's just see what the hell happens. ninja.gif
Daganev2005-04-15 08:54:36
I kind of thought it was allready clear whats happening...

Fae, bound in shadow get born out of pods, and a Warhorse flies in and breaks them free of the pod.
Elryn2005-04-15 09:01:44
Meh, gloat all you want, Daganev. I still say Nature cannot mix with Taint. There have always been Night and Crow which were tainted, that didn't make them still a part of Nature.

The Fae must be trapped in the shadows (have you tried looking at them?).
Daganev2005-04-15 09:05:46
Say that in game all you want...

Does a person who uses Yesod stop existing as part of the world because they are bound in shadow also?

If you look at them closely some say bound, some say wrapped in shadow. There is no indication they are enslaved.

There is strong indication that Glomdoring cares for the more darker sides of nature, such as death and fear. Two very important aspects that keep forests growing.

I'm not trying to gloat, I'm trying to help you see that Taint and Nature can co-exist in harmony. Why? Because Taint is not a 'Cosmic' thing.
Elryn2005-04-15 09:11:38
The very nature of the Taint precludes that Daganev, otherwise it isn't 'Taint'. Cosmicness/Notcosmicness has nothing to do with this situation and I'm not sure why you're bringing it up.

Look, right now I'm just really disappointed and upset that it seems everything is going to go the way I don't want to see it go.

We're already hearing the rubbish about Serenwilde being the good part of nature - love and light. Just great. I'm sure the snugglewumpkins will be happy. Just once, just once I would like to see Nature treated as totally oblivious to good and evil, light and dark.

I think I'll come back when I feel a little less morose.
Daganev2005-04-15 09:17:19
Now that serenwilde isn't ally hippydippy with celest, you might lose your light reputation, But considering how you people look at pookas and Banshees and seem to gloss over death stuff, makes it hard for me to see you putting any effort into being a 'balanced' nature.

There is no, very nature of the Taint, except that it changes things. While I was sitting and waiting, after the hound's footprint came up, I visted some 'Mother Night' websites. The websites I found that mentioned Mother Night and Hounds, as well as Night Mares, talked about how the Night was a symbol for change. Night is about the time of death, and change.

Ackelberry would be the forest of Life and growth, and Serenwilde with its moon should be a mixture, but for some reason the people who live there have been brainwashed too much allready by the Celest patrons's order members to see what Viravain sees.

This is the perfect example how nice Taint and Nature mix, isn't it smile.gif.

Nature = boring

Nature + Taint = r0xx0r

Someone, obviously, has been a bad warhorse, and will be locked in his stables for some time to come.

I thought Lampos was getting a bit frisky, probably been sneaking out to see some mare.

Rough quote from when you learn a lesson in the Stag specialisation - " reminds you to treat White Hart with respect, and aide him in his quests to *vanquish the dark spirits of Glomdoring.*

My char is loyal to White Hart, not Nature/Taint. And I wish some more in the Commune would actually look more to the Great Spirits than 'Nature vs Taint'.

That's why I am so pissed off that the official rule of the moment is to allow those working for it to try and bring back the Glomdoring spirits.

Though OOC I can see it as a good thing, ie Right, hurry up Glomdoring... biggrin.gif
Akraasiel2005-04-15 10:35:09
Well we have one Avatar up, and frankly we are dead stalled if Serenwilde opposes us. On the Ethereal, they can beat us down with no problems. And since the change to fae converting, there is no way they can "let it slide", so Glomdoring is gonna be hurting some more. I really wish this event would just wrap up soon, and the Commune be released, because having no skills means I can make little to no difference, especially when a fight with the Serenwilde has been edited into the coding. Meh.

Arguing from an IC perspective:

Nature and Taint have mixed, but the result is unnatural. That's the crux of it.
Elryn2005-04-15 11:22:18
Actually, I apologise. I think I was a little hasty in getting upset before, and I was working from second-hand information.

The way the Ethereal Seren vs Glom fae quest looks like it will work will be perfect. happy.gif

What sites? I don't mean to come across high-and-mighty, but I know a fair bit about pagan mythology and some mystery traditions, so I'm just curious where you got that information. Especially that stuff about Moon being a mix; the moon symbolises femininity and the sacred feminine, the Triple Goddess of the Maiden Mother Crone aspects of the female life cycle, etc.

Unless you were talking form an IG perspective? I find it a bit hard to follow when people jump between IG and not in game.

EDIT: Just to clarify, the Triple Goddess is a fairly new name for a fairly old concept, I think. It has been embraced by Wicca but the general idea goes back before that.

Anyone notice how Akraasiel always jumps on the 'next big thing' bandwagon?

Go go Faented (Tainted+Fae? Maybe?)
Akraasiel2005-04-15 11:46:42
Meh, Ive now been working on this for over a month Vallon, so you can pack it up and STFU.
Erion2005-04-15 14:18:00
Well, judging by things Akraasiel sent me a good 4-5 weeks ago (Like, when Viravain FIRST appeared), things have been following Celtic lore pretty closely. =\\ I'm guessing this first Avatar is closest to Badb, the Battle Crow. Badb also took the form of a Raven and a Wolf. =\\ So, I imagine "wolf" was changed to "hound".

I could see a mare, as another aspect of Morrigan was Macha, a goddess linked to horses and kingship.

As to the remaining aspect, I'm getting eye-twitches over this. Anann would be the third aspect, who was goddess of fertility, prosperity, and... Cattle. =\\ And since fertility is female, we're talking cow.

All hail Munsia, prophet of Night. tongue.gif
Asarnil2005-04-15 14:59:47
Well that explains why Viravain talked to Munsia by herself earlier...

Just seems like good and evil is becoming more and more important. Celest/Magnagora....Serenwilde/Glomdoring. Worried that we are going to be forced into roles. ::shrugs:: could be wrong, guess we'll just have to wait and see.
