I thwacked this tree 16 times and it didn't fall. Elder trees fall in 15 or so thwacks so there is no reason that I can fathom why this tree (which is weaker) is taking more... did something change again?

Well, he was hopping in and out every few minutes chopping it a little, so there probably would have been time for it to reset...
