Alright. The question was raised on another thread, in idiots, I think. Who do you see leading the Glomdoring, and the various guilds? I mean, not who do you think is most viable, but who do you want?
Here's my guesses.
City Leader: It's a tough one, but I, sadly, am going to have to go with Lyth or Gwynevere. It's better than Moralis, and, from my clan members (which includes both Coven and court), they're the only two really viable ones, after a lot of other choices are gone. Or Chade, but he's really gone innactive again.
Night Coven-
GM: Erion
GA: Jasper
GC: Probably Nayl
GE: Elerial
Druids-
GM: This is a toughy. I'm going to have to guess Veonira, if she does go Glom.
GA: Arilyon, if Veonira goes glom.
GC: Kaervas, if he goes Glom.
Knights-
NO ideas here. I don't like most of the options available.

I used to want to become Admin of the NC, meself, but I'd be satisfied just to be a member, nowadays.
Manjanaia2005-04-20 17:01:23
I might go Glomdoring Was gonna join the clan pushing for it but I figured you'd all be like 'he's only joining for recognition and because it's coming soon' etc.
Daganev2005-04-20 17:03:51
I'm moving this here since it will be more relavant.
I would like to make a suggestion for people.
I've been privy to a few groups of people doing wonderfull OOC work to help build the glomdoring in the direction they want it to go. So far, none of it seems inhernetly mutally exclusive and I would HIGHLY suggest that once things come out, nomatter who is leading what, that you share that work you did with the people who are leaders.
No reason to let your ego get in the way of all the good work you did, and then the leaders can find a way to combine the material into a coherent culture.
Especially if the leader turns out to me Moralis. You may not have things the way you want them but thats no reason to lose out on bragging rights 30 years later and say "I wrote the book you learn from"
Oh, and I see Daganev heading the Wiccan group. Its the only obvious option. After all, wiccans are all about not being able to read!

Thos're really the only picks I have at this point, both in terms of whom I'd like to see leading and who I think would do a good job.

Narsrim2005-04-20 17:15:54
To be quite honest, it makes me sick how certain people have been involved in this Glomdoring ordeal solely because they want a guild or commune leadership position that will be appointed because chances are that they couldn't win a vote if their lives depended on it. There are two people who come to mind. Guess who.
Furthermore, I think -far- too much emphasis has been placed since the beginning as to who would get what position. I sincerely hope the administration selects persons who entered the Glomdoring event and didn't initially flip out over who was getting this position or that position. The Viravain followers, for example, have done a wonderful job and I've not heard nor seen any of them whine/cry about getting or not getting X position.
On top of that, it is common knowledge that Magnagora is trying to influence who gets certain positions so they can manipulate Glomdoring. I hope this doesn't happen because quite frankly, it is lame.

As far as " saying how it is", I'm merely offering my perceptions based on the way people interact with Vis. I'm on good terms with Magnagora and the Summer Court (aside from the occasional misunderstanding with the latter), as well as with Viravain. With that in mind, I think I'd be a good leader for the Glom. The main people I don't get along with are the Coven, unless people are actively lying to my face and attempting to convince me that they're on his side... Which is a possibility.
I'm really enjoying Vis' personality now, because he is much more synchronised with others and just.. sly..

Oh, I completely understand what your doing, I just find it funny because of some other people out there who don't agree with your assesment of your relationships with groups.
I'm almost 100% certain that nobody knows whos doing what, and everyone is going to come out surprised in thier own little way, which is why I posted my first post, about sharing what you have worked on with whomever ends up taking the forefront.
I singled out Moralis only because so many people seem to be instantly thinking that they can't live or work with him, not because I have any idea whats going to happen with him one way or another.
And Narsrim don't worry, Viravain is not blind nor an idiot. Infact she's been warning people not to have too much ambition.

Erion and Visaeris? On neither an OOC nor IC level am I involved in the Glomdoring ordeal for the purposes of getting a leadership spot. While I do want a spot, that's not *why* I'm doing it. The why is that I've always been eager to play a Dark Forestal(and often do roleplay such in various other environments when possible), and I really dig the Hartstone skills . I have to say, I am sincerely hoping that the Divine don't appoint people to positions and instead rely on voting. Unfortunately that's not likely.
For your second paragraph, I haven't seen really any emphasis on who's getting what position, not from the Divine. I've seen Erion gunning, ICly, for the Shadowdancer GM slot, Vis openly interested in Commune Leader/Druid GM, but beyond that it doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Furthermore, up until the last few days and barring certain events involving both myself and Erion, I haven't seen any discussion about who's going to lead what. Me butting heads with Erion a lot, yeah I've seen that, but talking about who's going to lead? Perhaps you could point it out.
Furthermore, I don't understand what this common knowledge is. Who exactly do you think they want in what positions, that they would manage to manipulate the Glom? I'd love to see how you think they'll get their people in control when Viravain is pretty ironfisted on this whole matter

I find it amusing as well. It seems like a lot of people want to believe I'm absolutely loathed and refuse to hear anything to the contrary.
As for who's doing what, I've got a pretty solid list of names with their involvement, but it's admittedly not complete, and could use more flushing out. I'm going to combine my notes with others' as things are wrapping up, just so my curiousity can be sated by having a complete picture.
Regarding Moralis, Vis/I is/am taking more of a neutral stance towarding him over the past 18 hours.. Been talking ICly with a few people and had some interesting thoughts come up.
Edit: As a clarification, any spots I left empty on my little list was done out of being unsure who's joining/who wants to lead/etc.

Let's hear the names of Magnagorans, Summer Court, and other persons who find you as charming and appealing as you would like for us to believe.

Well lets put it this way, I as a player am going to be surprised to find out where Daganev ends up and how he ends up there. So far its been a blast, and since Daganev no longer has access to the Necromantate his ability to read and learn is decreasing. (which is why he recently lost highmagic and went back to low magic)
So while it must be obvious to some by now that I have a keen intrest in glomdoring, its because of what I said some time ago, the idea of an evil forest enthralls me, and I just like getting invovled in such things. Heck, I applied to be a BetaTester with no plans whatsoever of actually joining the game once it opnened, but it was SOOOO different than what I had thought it would be I had to stay and find out all the other twists and turns the admins had in store.

Ok.
Roleplaying with (long list of names involved, including Rowena/Brennan)
Gathering a few hundred essence from Water/Earth to put in the tree
Capturing ~50ish Crows for the tree
Hunting lots of stuff to feed to Rowena
Helping convince Magnagora to help us, then not help us, then help us again
Some limited fighting on Ethereal
Supporting defense of Rowena/Brennan
Sanctifying Viravain's shrine with 15k or so essence.
That's just off the top of my head, I really don't see it a big enough issue to be worth trying to note every single action. I'm contributing as much as I can given my limited resources, and I'm simply another hand working toward a common Goal. I can't say I've ever claimed to be the Alpha and the Omega, I'm just another guy helping out and working to coordinate efforts and channel our focus in the right direction.

As your not directly involved, I'll help clear some things up for you. A lot of what has happened has been directed by charachters talking to charachters, and people figuring out the right words to say to Viravain, and how to even be allowed to speak to her. So if someone is able to Talk to Viravain, they have allready done a lot.
As she comes in contact with more and more mortals, this is becoming less true however.
Terenas2005-04-20 17:40:07
I don't really see what people are arguing about. If Glom gets some capable leaders it will prosper and grow, if it gets some crappy ones, they will most likely get replaced soon enough. No need to get so worked up over who would be the first commune leaders or GMs or whatnot. Considering that it will take a long time for the admins to code in 3 new guilds and a bunch of skillsets. I don't see even see Glom having any guilds for a while.

My point is simply that you have done nothing special for someone who is arrogant enough to post /themself/ as a good choice for a leader. Although I think it is cute that you are foolish enough to believe that Magnagora's aide in any shape or form stems from your involvement. Magnagora is rather smart. They are in it for themselves and they do believe that they can manipulate/get something out of Glomdoring...
And you had 0 influence when it came to defending Rowena/Brenna, etc. It would be Daevos, Murphy, Kaervas, Veonira, Revan, Arilyon, etc... who take all the credit for that.
Manjanaia2005-04-20 17:45:13
That reminds me. Will Glomdoring be welcoming people into the commune or will it be just those who helped raise it for the short term?
