Then it appeared very fixed, however, it only appears to show a few people in the area. I'm often using scan, and none of the people who are in the same room as me show up, so I move east, and still none of those people show up...

Scan used to be "Tree Scan." That is, if you were in trees, it would show everyone outdoors in the general location and the room where they were standing.

It was changed (I miss old tree scan *pout*) so that you can scan and see anyone outdoors in a local area -but- you just see who is there and not what room.

When it's not showing you people right next to you it's probably because they're indoors.

ahh yep, indoors they were. Makes more sense now.

The old scan was better.

only for forestals... was useless for everyone else.
