You teleport along the aether strands to Kaervas.
A wide stone staircase. (road).
The corrosiveness of the taint sickens the land. There are 2 large wall of
stones here. A pile of rubble lies here, blocking the way southeast. A pile of
rubble lies here, blocking the way up. A stinking noxious cloud floats here.
Kaervas d'Murani, Melee Connoisseur is here, shrouded. He wields a blackened
tower shield with a serrated-edge in his right hand.
A duststorm obscures the rest of your vision.
4545h, 1184m, 10p exkdb-
Kaervas points at the tainted earth beneath your feet, snarling with a look of
madness on his face. The ground begins to tremble.
4545h, 1184m, 10p exkdb-
Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
You brand Kaervas a heretic for his crimes against the Light.
4545h, 547m, 7p xkdb-
A violent tremor rocks the land, causing the earth to shake and the ground to
buck beneath your feet.
Dust clouds rise as the earth shifts and sharp rocks slide and bounce, some
flying into the air. You yelp in pain as several of them smash into you,
bruising your flesh and cutting your skin.
3426h, 547m, 7p xkdbp-
You take a long drag off your pipe.
3426h, 547m, 7p xkdbp-
The potion heals and soothes you.
4128h, 547m, 7p xkdbp-
You feel your health, mana and ego replenished.
4545h, 711m, 7p xkdbp-

--- REGAIN ---

4545h, 771m, 7p exkdbp-
The stinking gas creeps deep down your throat, making you vomit violently.
4545h, 803m, 7p exkdbp-
Kaervas's finger trembles and he bears his teeth in a hideous grimace. A small
crack appears in the ground beneath you!
4545h, 803m, 7p exkdbp-
Kaervas glows with a white light.
A deep, foreboding hum emanates from the tainted earth, and then you are
suddenly slammed into the ground by an irresistable force.
4545h, 803m, 7p exkdbp-
A sudden shiver shoots up your spine, making you involuntarily jerk as a
creeping sensation crawls over your skin.

You are too stunned to be able to do anything. <-trying to tumble

-
You are no longer stunned.
-
Your senses return to you as the blackout ends.
4545h, 787m, 8p ekdbp-
You must possess balance in order to do that. <-trying to tumble
4545h, 787m, 8p ekdbp-
Your mind feels stronger and more alert.
4545h, 1107m, 8p ekdbp-
You feel your health, mana and ego replenished.
4545h, 1271m, 8p ekdbp-
Laughing maniacally, Kaervas clenches his fists in triumph as the ground splits
open beneath you, releasing foul smelling vapour and a blast of fetid heat. You
hover momentarily over the gaping earthen maw before being sucked screaming
down into its darkness. Your life is quickly snuffed out as the walls of this
stinking chasm rumble shut, crushing you to jelly.
You have been slain by Kaervas.

That's censor.gif . Serious call for downgrades here.

EDIT: Watch your language. ~Shiri~
Narsrim2005-04-20 20:14:47
Ceres, are you trying to imply that being able to passively stun -and- have the fastest delayed instantaneous death ability in Lusternia is overpowered?
Ceres2005-04-20 20:15:07
No, no, not at all.

I could easily have killed him there, see?

And to think, he didn't have any runes/motes embedded like paralyze, stupidity, etc.
Amaru2005-04-20 20:17:00
Well, blackout was embedded.

At least it cost him a horrific 3 power, that must have been a big factor when he was weighing up the advantages and disadvantages of using chasm.
Narsrim2005-04-20 20:17:50
I see you, Thorgal. What do you think about this?
Thorgal2005-04-20 20:17:51
It's a little weird that chasm has the same effectiveness as soulless, i.e. nothing but them moving stops it, but without the long setup (7 rubs with three second recovery each) soulless has.

Then if you compare it to judgement for example, which takes 5 power, but everything from web to paralysis stops it.

Furthermore, Celestines/Nihilists don't have the offense to "hold" someone down like a Geomancer. Passive stun and blackout, unconsciousness from poison gas, etc.
Kaervas2005-04-20 20:29:25
Nice I've always wanted to be overpowered tongue.gif

Either Ceres did tumble or this log is a fake:

There is nothing in the Geomancer demesne that'll knock you off balance.

You had passive blackout and Soulless tarot before as a Nihilist; however, you opted to not use it effectively like Amaru smile.gif

I believe she started to tumble the second stun ended (which takes balance) but was dead before tumble went through.
Kaervas2005-04-20 20:33:52
Actually I did use it, you wouldn't have noticed since I haven't fought you for ages. tongue.gif
Silvanus2005-04-20 20:34:42
Ah, she did tumble, but she tried to tumble in a different direction which caused it to stop.

Thus, you suck Ceres biggrin.gif

No. If she tried to tumble in a direction that was possible, it would have taken her balance and there would have been a delay before she rolled out of the room. I think she died before that movement took place, however.
Thorgal2005-04-20 20:36:54
She couldn't have known whether it started or not though, since the blackout hides it.

And no Narsrim, trying to move in any way after starting a tumble, causes the tumble to completely interrupt.
Silvanus2005-04-20 20:38:02
I was kidding, anyways.

I know. I was just saying that when she teleported, she would have seen the exits and thus known what direction to tumble out if it came to it.
