So today I looked at my cloak and went over my rings and bracelets to see if any of them need to be repaired or sewn up, and it turns one one of my rings has 10 months left on it, bracelet has 12 months, and cloak as 10 months. So I went and asked a jeweler and a tailor to see how much it would cost. I bought the fire proof cloak for 1300 gold originally, the ring for 900 gold, and the bracelet for 1800 gold.

As it turns out, it will cost me 900 gold to sew up the cloak, 5000 gold to repair the ring, and 6500 gold for the bracelet. Could anyone explain why repairing items cost so much more than the worth of comms originally to make? doh.gif

When I repaired my jewelry... Free. Either your being ripped off, or something's changed. Alot.

Mending clothing takes gold. The only things actually worth mending are great robes (1100 gold a pop, but you keep stats and what not and it IS cheaper than new robe comms) or something that has sentimental value.

Repairing jewelry takes heaps of money, I've noticed... But melting it down and making it again doesn't cost anything biggrin.gif.

Never repair jewelry...just get them to melt it down and recraft it. All you SHOULD have to pay is if it used something like leather, or the like, which 'burns' in the melting process.

Doesn't answer the question, though -- shouldn't it cost less to repair than make anew?
