No offense to Kidean, but the singing of His minstrels is.... loud. Could we have an option to turn off arena event 'advertisement' messages? They can be really distracting when teaching novices, trying to fight, or having a deep conversation.

Boo hiss! Boo! They're unique and cool, why'd we wanna get rid of them! I like them, though i'd prefer they actually shouted something musical to fit in with it But then again i'm just weird.
Shorlen2005-04-21 07:10:17
You misunderstand, I don't mean to block them entirely, just when doing things where they're huge distractions.
Hajamin2005-04-21 10:49:55
Kidaen isn't the only one to do them. Myself, Lacostian, Lisaera, and Buho have all done them. But as of late Kidaens had more time to run FFA's... need to get him to work.
Daganev2005-04-21 10:56:39
its not the minstels, is the long paragraphs that some people really enjoy while it also spams other people.

I'm afraid that the countdown msgs used in FFAs are realmwide messages and there is no way to single out who gets them and who doesn't. I generally run a FFA once or twice a day (thrice a total max if a lot of people are asking for them and no other gods are around to run any). The current countdown I have set up is a total of 6 minutes, with one message a minute, and while I understand and sympathise with your concerns regarding spamming, I am afraid I cannot deal with it in any other way then to simply run a dry FFA without any messages at all, and in that case, I am sure there is going to be some shouting going on, and I am afraid there is no way to ignore my bellowing and musical voice.
Should other people agree my msgs are just too offensive or spammy, don't hesitate to give feedback, I do not as of yet have the ability to read people's minds and all I have to go by is what people choose to tell me. However, what feedback I have received so far has been positive.
I sincerely apologise for the spamming my FFAs cause, but I am afraid there is just no way to deal with them other then to stop running them.

Acrune2005-04-21 14:08:39
I love the messages, it makes me feel better about not being able to join for some reason or another (usually because I'm on java at school )
Shorlen2005-04-21 14:42:35
Oh, I do love the messages, and if the choice is between everyone getting them and noone getting them, then they should continue Wasn't aware of the coding limitations involved.

It's only one message every minute for 5 to 6 minutes, is that really such a burden on your character? You get more spams by learning one lesson from a mob than that.

Ya, stop whining.
Faethan2005-04-21 17:48:45
If it really bothers you, you can write a little script to gag it.

Geeze, it was just a thought. On the, you know, IDEAS board.

Sorry, I was in a bad mood. But now I'm not. Good suggestion!
