I've been considering whether it would be a good idea to invite select others to join my manse for a long time... but I'm not sure it would be as appealing as I might think.
I know Richter has publically opened his manse to others, but I'm not sure if it is worth doing something similar when other manses can be linked via paintings anyway. The saving in cost may not be worth the loss of control.
Offer your thoughts, I'm interested, and unsure what people think about this.
Edit: Incidentally, I myself would vote no.

Richter seems to be doing well in life, but I have a rule I like to follow, though wealthy business owners normally don't.
If you wouldn't see yourself being a customer don't go into it.

Ah, but I'm not thinking about this as a business.
I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks.

I would consider it, but could never afford it. I have no idea how you people get 100 000's of thousands of gold, without buying ooc credits and selling them.

Astral and gambling.

Krokani and gambling for me. Selling the occasional lot of herbs as well.

I like living in a community manse. It's big so you get to run around and get lost and Richter has a shop where I get discounts with an endurance regen room (even though Athana doesnt use much endurance, should have got willpower!) oh and it was connected to all the cities, not Serenwilde anymore but I cant go there anways.

Room boxes cost 150k, I sell rooms at 140k, chipping in 10,000gp to anyone who wants a room there. So, even though I actually lose money, I still get very few people buying rooms. I think I have something like six rooms bought by other people.
As a business, not a good idea. For fun, not sure if it is, because I have the whole community thing going.
If you want to try, go ahead, but my thinking is, if there's not enough people that want to buy rooms in one manse already, there won't be people flocking to two or more.

I designed my manse so that if other aslaran might want to take up residence in it, family members or even non-family members, there'd be room for them to do so. However, I flubbed up introducing the idea at the wrong time and it got caught up in a bit of pecking-order-establishment crap, so I doubt it'll ever happen. No matter, though; I was going to make it have a public and a private area anyway, so there's nothing lost.

I would consider it with people i both ICly and OOCly trust so:
- family
- guild
- a few friends
With all the rest I wouldn't risk it.

Heh, all I'd consider is OOC friends. No way for guild / city / anything else.
