Am I -really- the only one?

Ok folks, so, I happen to think Faelings Rock. I tried to get them put into Imperian several times, but it was a no go. My First character I tried to RP being half Fae half Tanari, also.. no go. Now I got me some Faelings and I could not be happier.
What is even better we now have Balance 3, Faelings are now worthy of my peraonal joygasm, thats awesome.
But am I the only one that loves being a faeling? And if you don't think Faelings are great, tell us why, because I'm curious to know!
Desdemona2005-04-23 04:13:30
There is a large population of faelings out there, I think... So some must think that being faeling is pretty neat, if anything.

I for one like faelings, would like them more if they were collectibles.

Can Jewler's make little bells we can wear on our necks? That would only serve to make us cooler. Custom racial jewlery!
Elryn2005-04-23 04:16:21
I love being a Faeling, having suggested something similar as you did for Aetolia.

I think they could be a little more balanced in some ways, particularly in survival, but overall they are a wonderful race to play.

Edit: Um, cowbells wouldn't be something I would look for.

As I have said before, there aren't as many faelings as people think. After realizing how low health they have, and how easy it is to die, the usually go elfen, but yes I love being a faeling.
Nyla2005-04-23 04:19:59
Bells...... No....

Most people think faelings are awesome (Cause they are!) but most people cant handle the crappy constitution and give up.
Unknown2005-04-23 04:24:34
Low health... yea but when in the forest we regan like mad. I noticed when just meditating I -think- it goes faster than my none faeling alt, when inside a city even.
I would love to see Flying actually have a secondary use other than just being enjoyble.
I think the low health is part of being a faeling though, and even if we had 16 con, we still would be squishable, and that would kind of remove the "what it means to be Faeling" for me.
If I -could- do anything though, I would like to see a ritual or some way, by which we Faelings could sacrafice of our strength and dex, so we could raise our con. I would be happy with 1 strength and 11 con... but maybe thats just me.
Unknown2005-04-23 04:25:52
I have yet to have a problem with the con, since we get bonus for sipping health, add that to some enchantments and bashing is fine for me.
Note: I have -never- done PVP
Shiri2005-04-23 04:27:35
Heh. LOADS of people, i.e every mage/guardian/wiccan/druid would sacrifice strength for con. That'd be majorly bad.

Flying has PvP uses.

DEX and CHA need to work, that's my assessment. tongue.gif
Elryn2005-04-23 04:29:09
Our constitution is fine, thats part of being a Faeling. Its the fact that dex hardly counts for anything, and the incredible level of damage that most knights can deal that affects our survival.
Unknown2005-04-23 04:31:09
Wait dex -doesn't work-? I always wondered why I have never dodged a mobile in my entire 30 something years of life!
Shiro when you say that, does that mean we can be flying and fling runes down onto the heads of people below us?
And after having played some of the other races for a while, the only thing more con means (since I don't have the creds for my pvp faelings, ...yet!) for me is more health, so I can stop bashing rats/weevils earlier, and move onto bigger things a few levels before my faelings can. This also leads to much less gold aswell.
Shoshana2005-04-23 04:35:15
I love being a faeling (Yes, I do still play and my character is a faeling tongue.gif). I wasn't doing too well until I started influencing though... I don't think that the slow experience is really necessary because of the amount that we tend to die, but other than that they're pretty good. I'm also not a PvPer though.
Sylphas2005-04-23 04:38:52
You could have 500 dex, wouldn't make a difference. Mobs don't miss.

Problem is, warriors don't miss nearly enough for us to survive. I tested out today with Jelani. Even stanced, he never onced me. Parried some, but never, ever dodged.
Unknown2005-04-23 04:39:31
Yea the slow experience is kind of iffy, but it's not cripling. What we need is a racial clan, to unite us! Anyone else game for one?
Shoshana2005-04-23 04:50:08
I don't think racial clans are a smart idea on this game, especially with faelings now who are going to end up half in Glomdoring and half in Serenwilde, with a few random ones in the cities maybe. It undermines the conflict between the organisations to have a social clan with people from all over the place...
Unknown2005-04-23 04:56:42
Good Point, I conceed to you the victory.
I still say there must be some way to pump enough creds into a faeling to make a good pvp faeling...somehow...right?
Having never pvp'd, I am really thinking I am missing out on something big and immensly fun by not doing it.
Elryn2005-04-23 04:59:16
Don't hold out hope of being a good pvp'er of your own right while you're a faeling.
Sylphas2005-04-23 05:07:31
With a level 3 torc and a life blessing, faeling have almost as health as an elfen of the same level.
Unknown2005-04-23 05:09:57
Just crush a faelings dreams why don't you? That's ok I'll just be an amazing Faeling something else of my own right...like... The First Faeling Tosha Monk!
Faeling Tosha Monks bruce_h4h.gif > worthy.gif Monks Period
Or so I can tell myelf to sleep at night
Unknown2005-04-23 05:15:08
an artied omnitrans faeling ur'guard would have enough health to stay alive.
