Tarot for Shadowdancers

I'd like to suggest that if it isn't too much trouble, Shadowdancers be changed so they can take both Hexes and Tarot. Will this make them stronger? Yes, in some ways, but not excessively.

I find it somewhat bizarre that the "forest without mercy" teaches its priests of "the empathic ability whereby the healer takes the wounds or ailments of another into him or herself." Doesn't that go against their beliefs, somehow?

Mind you, I obviously have little understanding of the Lusternian ethos for how we are supposed to view the different factions... but I can safely say empathic healing is clearly a merciful ability.

I agree with Elryn here completly, what good reason is there for them to not have tarot and hexes? Other than people will wine about them needing to be nerfed because they get their own afflictions plus tarot afflictions... Anyone else know any other reasons as to why not?
Could we get some divine input? Please wub.gif

QUOTE
Tarot: Tarot is the skill of flinging cards inscribed with powerful images to great effect. It is said that in ancient days the original Tarot was much different than what is seen in these modern times, as the cards have evolved to reflect aspects of the Last Nine Vernal Gods. The skill was developed in cities and is primarily used by the guardian archetype. It is an excellent all-around skill with a variety of offensive, defensive and miscellaneous powers.
Sylphas2005-04-23 05:22:21
No. I want to see them whine. Giving them a decently offensive secondary skill would ruin that.
Unknown2005-04-23 05:23:33
Good point, I concede the victory to Sylphas. worthy.gif

The same can be said of the Taint, Jack. Though you're quite right, I give up.

*shrug*

Ah, but:

Meh, I suppose it is characteristic of this new Glomdoring though, that it doesn't really make a lot of sense. Stick with Glomdoring healers then. *shrug*

While we're at it, maybe give them a few celestial cosmic powers. That might be fun to play with.

Bitter? No....
Thorgal2005-04-23 11:12:21
Glomdoring has made perfect sense in every way so far, especially with the faeling.
Elryn2005-04-23 11:19:39
Aye, apparently I'm one of few who just don't see it. Healing in a forest without mercy, I guess I am just crazy to look for ways around that.
Unknown2005-04-23 12:35:36
Hexes/runes maybe? No?
Elryn2005-04-23 12:47:57
That would work. Though I imagine the Glomdoring 'druids' will have the choice of runes anyway.
Shamarah2005-04-23 12:49:11
No, runes is a mage skill, and it only works decently with demesnes.
Unknown2005-04-23 12:50:13
I'm curious to know if the GLomdoring Druids will have to do their quest to get Dreamweaving like the rest or will it be already there. wink.gif
Daganev2005-04-23 12:58:39
Glomdoring makes perfect sense, and its shame that so many people can't wrap thier heads around it.

This whole event to me was one giant awesome quest puzzle.
Elryn2005-04-23 13:01:25
Ah, Daganev. Perhaps the best oracle for what the divine are thinking in this event.

Explain how healing makes sense?
Daganev2005-04-23 13:12:34
I don't think the proper events have exactly happened yet. but it was previously believed that the undead can not give birth.

Rowena, proved this to be false.

The mercy that Glomdoring lacks is not that of helping its members but rather the lack of mercy that comes from an ideology of correctness.

As Viravain says.. "DO NOT QUESTION ME!"
Elryn2005-04-23 13:26:56
Wouldn't that make Serenwilde a 'forest without mercy' as well?
Thorgal2005-04-23 14:04:36
In serenwilde, everyone thinks their opinion should be taken into consideration..so no, it doesn't resemble glomdoring in the slightest, since Viravain does what She wants. Glomdoring might actually be an efficient commune instead.

Gimme tarot instead of hexes, yeah.

Pleeeease?

Nah, that would just be obscene, though I appreciate people asking on our behalf.
