Hey guys, I am just now getting into sparring and fighting a lot and I was wondering, as an aquamancer, is quicksilver a benifit to me? And what exactly does it do as I couldn't find any documentation on it...

It gives speed, it's a standard defence which supposedly increases your chance to dodge, and works as a buffer against aeon.

Does it make you recover from equilibrium loss quicker!?
If so, I'm going to buy the hell outta it.

Quicksilver is great against guardians. It's a defence against aeon, so if someone aeons you they'll strip quicksilver instead.
Also, you can sip it, and the effect will occur about 6 seconds later (right after the guardian/Moondancer recovers eq to do it again.) Which means they probably can't KEEP you aeoned so easily, so you have a chance to escape.
Anyway, it's great, get it. It doesn't work against sap or choke though.
EDIT: No, it doesn't increase eq.
But man, it increases dodge rate? No wonder knights raze it off me. Damn.

I think the thing about it increasing dodge rate is an urban legend, frankly, but I can't prove it without looking at the code.
In Aetolia, you could, if you had enough, sip it every few seconds, so it'd always be up even when it was being stripped. Never tested that here, though.
And warriors raze it because they don't get to choose what they raze, Shiri. We can't tell if you're shielded or have rebounding, so we raze. If you're not, we get speed instead.

I know that. I just meant that I couldn't think why warriors would strip that def in particular with a raze, so it would make sense for it to increase the dodging, otherwise they would have no reason in particular to be able to do that.
