Underground trees

There are some trees in the underground cavernous part of Glomdoring. Given these rooms are indoors with no access to sunlight...
Thorgal2005-04-27 12:02:57
Yeah, Narsrim doesn't want glomdoring proper to have any trees, only serenwilde is allowed.
Erion2005-04-27 12:07:59
Use SURVEY next time. They're openings, and tainted forest rooms.

Serenwilde Proper is not flowable, and cannot grow Totems.

Elder Trees are supposed to be plantable in Outdoor Forest locations only. It sounds like a bug that they are plantable underground, and the newer rooms underground seem to have the wrong flag and environment type set, since it doesn't match with the adjacent rooms.

I'm telling you, as an official Glomdorito, they are properly flagged, their room descriptions confirm it, et al. Only three rooms are underground forest rooms. The mail room, the news room, and that other one.

Paste the room descriptions and survey? I didn't have enough time to read them, but I did survey. I'm more curious then anything, since I haven't seen the new work from the builders.

Edit: I'm one of those people who keeps verbose room descriptions turned on at all times.

Remind me when I get home, and am not running off java. tongue.gif

Meh, I'm an idiot. I'd swear I'd looked before, and the rdesc for at least one room made it look like a good foresty room. But they're not. It's all underground and rootsy. Shrug. Maybe Ravenwoods don't need light? smile.gif It is a dark forest, and Night's power makes them grow in rooms where the roots busted free? tongue.gif

Rooms in glomdoring proper with ravenwood trees and saplings have this survey:

You discern:
You are standing in Glomdoring Forest.
Your environment conforms to that of tainted forest.
You are in the Prime Material Plane.

All the other glomdoring proper rooms have this one:

You discern:
You are standing in Glomdoring Forest.
Your environment conforms to that of tainted constructed underground.
You are in the Prime Material Plane.

Nope, like I said, sounds like the new rooms got the wrong flag set. Ask Viravain if she can transplant those Ravenwoods when they fix it, so you don't lose them. tongue.gif

I think it was done on purpouse. Shrug. Who knows?

You have no idea how funny that sounds coming from you tongue.gif laugh.gif

Sooo.. There are trees that shoot energy at you, trees that follow you around, trees you can sprout out of nothingness, and trees that hold enough power to probably destroy half the basin...
And yet you still cling to the idea of photosynthesis? I can't help but laugh at that..

Sorry, Glomdoring, it's a bug. We'll move those trees to a (legal) location of your choosing.
Shiri2005-04-27 15:48:12

I don't suppose you would let those of us who came over with Stag bond with totems until you guys get all the Crow stuff going?

And how is that bad roleplay? You do know... that verbose is the LONG description, that shows everything, right? Brief is the short one.
Amaru2005-04-27 16:08:05
*grin* I just always thought of roleplayers using long descriptions so they can get a feel for the world around them, like a book, and the player players using verbose and not caring. It probably just cuts down the spam, but I'm too used to long descs to change.
