$5 credits?

I was just thinking.. I never have AUS$32.50 (I think) left over at the end of the which, which I can spend to buy some credits.. But I almost always have $8 in my bank account and $2 in coins in my wallet, just trying to pull my pants down as I walk.. so, would there be a chance of getting a $5 bundle of credits on the website?
I'm not sure what kinds of fees are taken out or each transaction, so maybe it's just not economical, but I'm pretty sure I would buy some credits at least once a month if there was a small bundle like that.

Aah, damn. Move to Ideas, please?

Well done for putting this in the right section, anyway.

I'm afraid a bunch of $5 wouldn't allow them to pay for credit card fees.
Just save for a few months, then buy a bigger bunch of credits. Put it on a piggybank of those, and swear you won't break it until there's at least a couple dozens $ on it.

Hey, I wouldn't mind an option for ten bucks worth of credits, I'd do it every once in a while, for 20cr.

Seeing that I have no card nor a cheque, I'd have to send cash to buy credits. I REALLY would like to, but I am searching for a moneychanger since one week, and I can't find any... doh.gif

Blame the credit card companies for charging such rediculous fees. My local hobby shop has the same policy of not accepting credit cards for purchases under $20. The owner says the profit he ears on a sale less than that is not enough to cover the fees for accepting the credit card.

Hmm. I must really piss people off then when I charge a candy bar or a pack of Skittles to my card.
Acrune2005-04-27 22:20:50
Once a guy at work accidently overcharged someone by about $77500 for $200 worth of tile, and we were hit with $2500 or so in credit card fees... hehehe...

Instead of buying $5 of credits a month, save for four months and buy $20 worth. The same result, but you get a prettier chunk of credits to play with. That, and you're actually able to buy $20 worth at the moment tongue.gif

Just gotta remember that you risk getting the cash stolen. dry.gif The first time I sent, it was fine. Second time, Sarapis told me they got the letter, but no cash inside. Third time, I sent a bank draft instead, even with the horrible bank fees (especially if it doesn't get accepted).

Try your post office for a money order perhaps?

Money through mail = bery bery bad. Cheque books are pretty easy to organise, I'd advise that if you can't get a credit card.
Athana2005-04-28 01:56:10
Yeah, I dont have a credit card so I have to send money
It was so freaking scary sending $1000 cash through the mail. I was like twitching for a pretty long time. wacko.gif

You sent $1000 in the mail? Fark, couldn't you spare a few dollars for a money order/postal check thingy from the post office?
Sylphas2005-04-28 02:19:19
You're insane, Athana. Get a money order. Hell, even having a friend with a credit card do it is better than sending $1k cash.

i live life on the edge tongue.gif

but for real...never ever again.

Yeah well, I'd get a checkbook, but am pretty sure you need a bank account _first_, which I don't have yet.

What I would like is if Sarapis hired someone in Australia and the UK, so that I could buy with a cheque. I wanted to buy about $700 worth a few years ago, and when I talked to my bank, they told me it would cost $30 just for the fees to change it from AUS$ to US$.. I had to say hell no.. I don't even remember what I spent the money on instead now.. Might have been my DVD player.
