I'm just *dying* for Glomdoring...

Back to Common Grounds.

Right now Glomdoring is having a problem, and I'm posting because I see a lot of other people getting frustrated.

We're defenseless. This, in and of itself, is not a bad thing.. But we're being attacked. Now, chopping trees is one thing.. But it's getting to the point where we're actually unable to even relax in our own commune without getting attacked/killed.

This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time, and the solution that has been trumpeted, admittedly only by mortals, doesn't seem to be much of a solution. The solution was to be a commune. Unfortunately, it takes time to build a commune. Trees need to grow into totems(and can't be bonded at the moment anyhow), we can't afford guards exactly(not enough power because we don't have villages because we can't CF to get influencers) and similar issues. Getting a commune setup from scratch, as Serenwilde knows, takes time.. The difference is we're trying to start midgame.

I'm not trying to complain here, I'm not posting a knee-jerk bitchfest, all I'm doing is asking if the admin can take a step back and consider the situation. Maybe nothing needs to be changed, so be it. But right now there are tons of mushroom circles in our commune, which allows enemies to come in, set up demesnes, kill, and then they flow right out. I don't see that as a healthy situation, regardless of the fact that the commune is still new. A whole lot of people that I've talked to are feeling a lot of frustration, because the issue is time.. Time to grow, time for CFs, etc.

I don't have a solution, as my topic says. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the admin have some voodoo up their sleeves that they're going to throw out real fast. I can appreciate that it takes time to code stuff like Crow, so take the time. In the interim though, I hope something will be done to help balance the scale.

Hmm, I agree it would be nice if it were more difficult for Serenwilde characters to raid Glomdoring and especially cut down the trees or kill the avatars.

Mind, the commune now has two guilds with lovely new skills available to defend itself, which is a -lot- better than the situation it was in not too long ago.

I dunno it might suck but I kinda think it should be par for the course that when you establish a new city/commune mid-game you do not recieve some kind of divine intervention that makes your lives a little easier. It's hard work and it should be hard work.

Regarding those muchroom circles, though, that might be something worth looking into. IE. should they grow only in a specific type of forest?

Shadowdancers can summon mushrooms, can't they? Ooo... I bet they're poisonous, deep purple mushrooms too.
Unknown2005-04-29 06:21:16
Heh, I assume they can. I have no idea.
Daganev2005-04-29 06:37:34
Meh, don't complain now, otherwise They will have an excuse to complain after the Glomdoring Druids get put in. Although, I bet the day the guild comes in they will start running to make peace saying ... 'ok we did what we wanted'

Serenwilde is like the kid that throws stones at the bird with the broken wing.

And giggles.

Meh. Everything is fine. Just remember payback is a censor.gif
Jalain2005-04-29 07:10:22
The fact that they can flow into the trees and then start attacking needs to be changed. Though, hopefully that kind of thing has been slowed a little.
Unknown2005-04-29 08:21:45
Flowing from the trees is like.. a basic Druid tactic to distance yourself from the opponent. You'll be doing it soon.
Jalain2005-04-29 08:23:58
I won't be flowing from Glomdoring into Serenwilde to do it.
Unknown2005-04-29 08:31:16
Oh joy, read the intro against and it's Yet Another Visaeris-Glomdoring Rant. Oh well... Ya really should stop complaining about it already Vissy tongue.gif

You're right though, we are defenceless. That doesn't mean we will always be so. When we can slap them back, it'll be fun and the raids will slow down.

The circles that were summoned in the glomdoring were summoned by shadowdancers.
Bau2005-04-29 09:11:37
Rubbish. We know for a fact that some of them were raised by Serens, because nobody was in the room to do them at the time (all busy fighting a distraction elsewhere).
Laysus2005-04-29 09:26:02
Circles don't have to be summoned at the time that you take spores from them, they can last up to a month I think.
Jalain2005-04-29 09:45:26
They wern't summoned by Shadowdancers, because we've been saying over CT again and again not to summon them.
Bau2005-04-29 10:18:33
Laysus, I know circles last. What I meant was, there was no circle, there was no Glom, then there was circle.

Now you know how New Celestians felt during the first days of open beta. Enjoy.

Meh. I want to see the Harpies and Zombies take up arms, and patrol the Glade. =\\ That would just be amusing.
