Okay, since you replied in Richters thread saying that it WAS character sharing, Id like to request that you delete Morrigana for ethical reasons. At the time, I did not think it was character sharing and was assured that it was fine, but now that Fain has made it known that it wasnt fine, I feel that it would be wrong of me to continue playing said character no matter how attached to it I may have become.
Im so sorry to the Lusternian staff and administration. I just want this cleared up so there is no lingering bad feeling. Thank you for your time.

Torak2005-04-28 17:15:54
Eh what did you do?
Akraasiel2005-04-28 17:17:57
Richter purchased 1000 credits on Morrigana, which were transferred back to him, thus giving me the lesson bonus. In Richters other thread, Fain made it clear that this wasnt allowed.
Richter2005-04-28 17:18:15
Damnit. I made a character, put some lessons on her, transferred the credits to me, and gave her to you.
I've already messaged Fain, who pwned me in my thread. My hope is that because I didn't think making a character, not using her, and giving them to you (letting you re-register/change password) was wrong, but now I realize it is, that there would be no retro-deletions.
Now, if you do recall, we have a friend who played his character for months, and gave him away. That's bad.
Anyway, message the gods, don't leave it open to the public.

Well no @#$@...You should of asked first or did a issueme..
Akraasiel2005-04-28 17:21:34
Well regardless, it has been realized that a mistake was made, now Im just waiting for a divine to perform the deletion... *sigh*
Torak2005-04-28 17:22:41
Heh just buy how ever many lessons you got in credit form then give them back to a divine
Richter2005-04-28 17:25:32
Or not. Don't request deletion you . Talk to the gods about it. I said I already messaged Fain. I don't need you being suicidal on me, ruining my family, and getting the free lessons deleted. This is NOT a public topic.
Estarra2005-04-28 17:29:14
Sorry to contradict Fain but that wasn't against the rules. Credits bought are OOC and can be transferred.
Ialie2005-04-28 17:30:32
I don't think it was the credits he was talking about.
I think they are questioning the issue of creating a character, and then giving the character to someone else.

Yes, you cannot transfer a character to another, that is character sharing and against the rules.
Akraasiel2005-04-28 17:35:40
Despite whether or not the character has been played, registered, or bears the same name or race as the original?
Richter2005-04-28 17:41:31
Example:
Morgan, my future son
Bought credits
Logged onto Morgan, transferred credits to Richter
Gave password to friend to change for thier use, friend now has lessons
I'm a bad man. Sorry!

That is pushing the line. I'll get some guidance from IRE on our policy.
Richter2005-04-28 18:51:52
Well, if it makes anyone feel better, I wans't -trying- to be shifty...
Silvenae2005-04-28 19:04:49
Technically Richter could have had his friend create Morgan.
Then he could have bought the credits on the character Morgan even though it's someone else's character, which would result in Morgan getting the lesson bonus. Then the person could just transfer the credits to Richter.
Same end result - Morgan is played by a friend and has newbie lessons, Richter has his credits, the only difference being that the person behind Richter was never logged onto the character Morgan.
It's almost exactly the same and doesn't break any rules. The only difference here is that Richter's player was logged into Morgan for the 15 minutes it took to create the character and Richter was guaranteed to keep a hold of his credits and didn't have to risk whoever was playing Morgan deciding to seal them.
Maybe add something to help charactersharing that says "Once you've logged into a character no one else may log into that character for any reason for any amount of time." if it's really that big of a deal to clear it up in the future.

Couldn't have put it better. Didn't mean to create any trouble anyway...

Morrigana is annoying beyond all reason, but yeah..talk to the divine. At least you make things interesting.

I believe that if no RP was ruined (which it wasn't, it actually created RP by giving someone a reason to be in richters family and akraasiel isn't too bad at argh pee) and the same effect could've been had by changing the fact that richter wanted to secure his 1k CR.
Honestly, i don't see the problem, it was just richter protecting his hard earned, and he didn't even log into the character but to transfer credits
