Problem appaeras to be a common router before we get to Lusty. I've had traceroutes done from various states and countries, all are dieing around the same point. Nothing we can do about it really.

How come some people can get in and some people can't, though?

Because us who can get on, come in through a different server route, and thus bypass the bodgy one.

What I found irritating is that someone decided to go through the Glom commune and Allhex a few pople whilst they were timing out... that's really not on!

If you can't get on-line, something between you and Lusternia is having a problem. All Internet connections actually make several stops along the way, often times 10 to 20 before reaching its destination. If not one get get in, the messed up point is probably in the IRE network. Since each person goes through different stops (routes) to get to Lusternia based upon where on the Iternet they live, if you see some people having trouble and others not then that means there is some very important node (router) on the Internet that services a large region of people that is down, but that's an Internet problem, not an IRE problem.
I recall once in college I could not get to a server that I was certain was up. The route from my dorm to the server had a dead router in between, and the Internet is not usually smart enough to find alternate routes. But I could access other servers. So I logged into the Achaea server, which I did have access to, and lo and behold, the route from Achaea to the server I wanted was working because it did not go through whichever router was causing problems when my dorm room requested it. That's the nature of the Internet.
