Can we have a skill in Alchemy that undilutes all vials in someone's inventory?
Unknown2005-05-01 02:09:00
Good idea.
Acrune2005-05-01 02:11:42
I'd rather see dilute go away completely, and replaced with some power using def that helps with bashing. Because, well, dilute is annoying and cruel, and we suck at bashing biggrin.gif

No no, give alchemists more! MORE!
Faethan2005-05-01 03:20:33
Really, anything that allows you to destroy a player's items is just a griefer skill. I don't see why skills like this are coded.
Unknown2005-05-01 08:09:43
If it was only a temporary thing it might be ok.
Nayl2005-05-01 08:41:31
Dilute should be 5 - 10 minutes.
Then it resets.
And it should list on diag, with no cure, just so you know

5 minutes max.

A timer is definately a good idea. It will provide an upper hand in battle, but won't incapacitate the opponent until they replace his or her vial. As Nayl suggested, if it appeared under diagnose and wasn't curable until it naturally wore off, it will be a better skill. It is magical water right? There's no reason why it should last forever in the first place.

On the contrary, if this change is to be implemented, a lot more Aquamancers will not hesitate to use it.
Marsu2005-05-01 15:02:48
Yeah, I have never used dilute. As long as nobody shieldsmashes me or forces me to empty vials then I never will.

I'd agree to a timer on it then I can actually use it without the fuss smile.gif
Binjo2005-05-02 01:43:50
If it's on a timer though there shouldn't be anything outside of that initial dilute message to let you know that you're diluted or else it'll be really easy to get around (assuming you keep some vials in a pack). But yeah, I don't even have dilute but I will pretty soon, and I'd like to be able to use it without making my opponent spend hordes of gold.
Elgar2005-05-02 05:20:05
I agree with Acrune, replace dilute by a offensive skill that is usefull and that doesn't destroy items.
Narsrim2005-05-02 05:21:55
If I were an Aquamancer, I'd want to keep dilute until other such abilities like shield smash got changed too. Why sacrifice your power and let others keep an equally nasty skill?

a. i confuse deluge and dilute to much when i need to aquacast them fast. (really don't know how that came though)
b. We don't like to be grievers but we want a skill so we can kick some geomancer ass?
Unknown2005-05-02 05:46:52
If dilute were permanent until an undilute spell were cast it would be better.

Ah hell, I just want a spell called 'thicken'.

So make an alias for it, and use the alias instead.
Shiri2005-05-02 15:03:09
Not to mention that you have to aquacast deluge and don't have to enter a target like you do with dilute. huh.gif

Yes but it loses time, anyway I aliased the word dilute to deluge so if i mistype it again it should still do what i intended

Bad idea. Dilute isn't really abused. Why's everyone so afraid of it? Keep it and use it. Use it wisely! ninja.gif

That's why I will never shieldsmash an aquamancer, everyone's else shield be pepared!!
