ANNOUNCE NEWS #279
Date: 5/13/2005 at 22:22

Subj: Envoy Updates: Stag and Moon
We recognized a need for upgrades to Stag and Moon and used the envoy
reports as a guideline. However, it wasn't our intent to completely
rewrite the skillset (for example, we weren't going to add another 5
abilities to Stag). Ultimately, we felt just a few slight changes were
necessary.
STAG
 - Stomp: lowered power cost, chance of breaking legs.
 - AncestralCurse: Now a location spell.
 - Gore: Will instakill if target at 1/4 health.
 - Ringwalk: *New Skill* (see AB help file).
MOON
 - Shine: Complete revision (see AB help file).
 - Harvest: Not dependent upon maintaing a circle.
 - Dark: Now a location spell.
 - Drawdown: Weapons held will have an aura, modifying stats.
 - Shafts: *New Skill* (see AB help file).
NIGHT
 - NightKiss: Similar weapon aura as drawdown.
Penned by my hand on the 9th of Vestian, in the year 117 CE.

Dark and Ancestralcurse are now useful in teams.
Drawdown - well, I have no idea, I get an athame buff, woo.
Shafts - I CAN STOP PEOPLE FRICKIN' RUNNING AWAY.
Harvest - Neat, no more circling every room.
Shine - ...I have no idea, will have to conduct experiments.

I like these changes.

They're all -amazing- upgrades, IMO. Not that I've even used them yet, with my distinct lack of skills. But I -love- shafts, from my testing, Drawdown will be good for Serenguard now. Shine seems to be niiiiice now. Harvest, that's a good change, and Dark I've not tested, but that also seems like a good change, I'm guessing it's like Reality in Illusions now. The Stag changes are also great. Ringwall's very cool

Details?
Shiri2005-05-13 22:47:05
Dark's the same as it was, that we've found, it just hits a group.
Shafts are AWESOME fast. (It keeps nicking the exits. Then putting them back again. Like once a second.)
Shine me and Cronnacht are checking right now.
Ringwall is the same as shafts I assume?

So Shafts is like Bonds...
But what does Dark do now? And Shine... give a poor us details!
Edit: Okay, nevermind Dark... just Shine.

Shine appears to be bugged and is not taking power when activated, I bugged it ingame too.

Passive afflictions!
Ancestralcurse is -nice- now. I believe it might be a bit strong where the druids are concerned, but it's great for the Serenguard. Ringwalk is nice too. Woot.

No Crow upgrades? *evilgrin*
Soll2005-05-13 22:53:59
Yay Admin.
Daevos2005-05-13 22:54:02
I'm mad about ancestral curse, since it is basically a improved version of the old contagion. Also kind of shocked that such a skill would be given to Hartstone with their already numerous passive attacks.
Estarra2005-05-13 22:56:09
Actually both ancestral curse and dark moon work like contagion in that the more of your enemies are in the room, the less chance there will be of it hitting. In other words, if there's 1 enemy, it'll hit 100%. If there's 2 enemies, there's 100% chance it'll hit one (at random) and a lesser chance to hit the second, etc.
Ceres2005-05-13 22:56:56
Woohoo for Ancestralcurse in a demense.
Daevos2005-05-13 22:57:52
ok, then I guess my assumption about that is wrong then. And its about the same as the current contagion. That still leaves the Hartstone issue though.
Erion2005-05-13 23:00:23
That does sound nasty. Especially given it's in the same single fighter, unlike contagion/geomancer. Contagion in a room, with a geo's demesne, you'll be out like the fat kid in dodge ball. =\\

Me and Cronnacht tested Shine, and it lasts about 3 minutes (about), and adds something like...50-150 more damage, maximum, to our attacks.
We didn't test the other end though. I'm sure someone else can come up with better numbers.
I just hope the 8p bit is a bug, not the 0p bit, because 150 damage for 1 minute 30 seconds isn't worth 8p. :/

So it's like, a moon-version of shadow stealing? =\\
Unknown2005-05-13 23:03:38
Daevos > Blacktalon get more passive afflictions than Hartstone, and it doesn't cost the any power, soo.. yeah.
