Everyone who has read the histories remembers the Aetherbroadcasting, right? People have mentioned how cool it would be to have a channel devoted to it, but the Divines never made one. Akraasial (I think, possibly someone else) tried to do it over shouts at one point, and Barry/Guido did news posts...

I just had an ingenious idea. A clan.

The idea is everyone can join the clan, and listen to the channel if they so choose. Only certain people would be able to talk, for example, if an interview is happening only those two would be able to talk. Of course, we could work it like a radio show: Anyone who knows the answer, send me a tell. Ah, now we have Dyr on the wave, how are you doing today?.

*I* think it would be really cool. Anyone have any thoughts? Would anyone join if I made it?

I'd love to, if I could fit it into my RP.

It's a good idea but I get the feeling it wouldn't work. I can't put a finger on why.

*nod* But it's worth a shot, simply because it would be awesome. It's going to need to make a real effort not to devolve into just a random chat clan though.

1) - Opposing organizations wouldn't like it: Once enough people from each place join, it won't matter. Furthermore, Worst case, I can go rogue *grin* *Prolly not*.

2) Nothing important would be discussed there - true, possibly. But it would be like RL news - reporters may give a biased oppinion, but it would sya SOMETHING.

3) random chat? Nuh. I dont think EVERYONEs gunna be able to talk - just reporters, or interviewers. However, I'll just start out with everyone talking until it gets to a point of badnes... *shrug*.

Can you restrict clt privs, or would it be just a "be an ass, get kicked" thing?

He had a clan, Lusternian News or something like that. I believe he flipped off because he was getting enemied to everyone, so he did anger everyone in the process.

Bah, and I thought I had a good, original idea...

And I thought about buying a clan and doing that, but it doesn't really fit my RP, and I have too much to do.

Plus, I already told Elerial I was buying him a clan, so I'll be short on gold for a bit.

But, if someone could do it, it would be a neat idea. Boot people that chat on the channel, and enemy them, so they can see they've been banned, and everyone in the clan can see they're on the "do not add" list.

I already had the clan and a manse kitted out for it. Have done since maybe 3 or 4 months ago. But no one ever listened to me the first time round *shrug*

Yeah I saw that Manse and I was like...wtf...I never heard anything about you trying that news thing.

I would make the following suggestions.

1.100 gold yearly dues.

2.Probation for anyone who talks out of turn.

3.Secret Clan name, but advertised (under a different name). This is So random people don't ask why the Leader of Serenwilde is in the same clan as someone who is known for burning down trees.. type thing, and only people who care to ask and are interested will bother people about it.

4. Make arrangments with the Divine and Admins to get interviews of NPCs and Gods and such on various issues from, the Nature of the Elemental planes to Why Rocs enjoy the taste of adder meat, maybe once every 5 to 10 years. Perhaps even make public announcement when these interviews are arragned and charge be 1K gold to listen to the broadcast if they arn't allready due paying members.

5. Offer advertisements for a fee (Ads for things you can't advertise on Market, like. Aniversary announcemnts, or engagement plans and weddings, and birthdays, and stuff)

6. Use gold to pay people to make good interviews and to pay High ranking members of guild and cities to spend time interviewing.

1) I was thinking about thi, in addition for a 200-300 joinng fee. So far, other than you, all I have heared on the subject is its a bad idea, so its still maybe. Actually, you say use it to pay for interviews, which is a great idea.

2) I was planning on probation for all, execpt for hired reporters. THey could give access to the channel as per what I posted.

3) Well, I was gunna hope that the nature of the clan made it so it didn't need to be secret. However, it is a good idea. I was hoping to get pretty much everyone to join.

Alyssandra, what happened to the manse? I just checked and I didn't see it linked to the fulcrux... did you sell it or something? And what happened to the clan?
