Light my wick
And let me burn
Allow me to be your salvation
When you yearn

Don't put me out
Don't snuff my flame
Give me freedom
And I will give you the same

Let my fire raise higher
To touch the palm of heaven
Multiply the fire
From one to seven

I can illuminate the darkness
And give shadows life
I can be your god
In the most somber of nights

Hold me to your breast
And let me pray
Let my whisper guide your steps
Giving you illumination to light your way

Carry me aloft or close
I promise I will not harm you
Give me life and I swear
I will reveal that which is true

I can carry the world in my arms
I can be your lover or your child
Passionate or timid
Strong or mild

Just embrace my fire
Just light the flame
And I will carry you in my arms
Become your salvation and hope in the same

Let me be everything you've ever desired
Simply say my name
Let my prayers be your guide
In this night- light the flame.

You write nice poems. I didn't mention in the last one but they're good. spoton.gif

Thank you. smile.gif I really wanted to capture the words a candle might speak, if it were given a voice. I'm not sure if I did exactly that. What do you think?

I think we need a Poetry section in game so you could share your poems with more people, Achaea has one, no reason why we can't. smile.gif

Even though it is fun to have a poetry post in the game, I like posting here. That way, I can run into the forums, post a bit, and go back to my Socio-perspectives lab and listen to my prof dawdle on while 99% of the class just stares at him. The other 1% have already lost consciousness. whoosh.gif

Thank you for your posts. smile.gif It really makes me feel good that someone gets something out of my poems. Like my art work, it makes me glow knowing that they're seeing something in the paintings that I created.
