Anyone else think it would fit perfectly in stag to have Parade force them to follow you, instead of lusting them? And to have Stagform or something allow you one more room of movement before you get the "not so hasty" message? Stag seems to be very much about movement: Ringwalk, sprinting, Pacing, Bolting. These would fit, and give it a lot more utility, without boosting it really for combat.
Terenas2005-05-20 18:46:19
Parade is one of the useful combat abilities that Stag has, don't take it away! I still think Stag needs some looking at in terms of offense, especially since Moon has Shine for damage reduction/increase and Moon Aura. Stagform should give something rather than the laughable +1 dex, though the +1 movement would be a nice addition.
Sylphas2005-05-20 18:49:35
Can't say I've ever used Parade. I'll have to test it out. It just seemed a nice fit to forcing someone to follow. *shrug* A new skill would work too.

Sylphas: Doing parade forces them to spend 6 seconds or so rejecting you, although that's just my manual in-combat timing and probably off. But it FEELS like forever. I.e, coupled with love potion, if you do it quite a bit you have completely stopped a mage's offence. Or a Blacktalon's. Same as tarot lust, 'cept they see it. Good move.
Er, also though, Terenas, we got some statistics and the damage increase and reduction for Shine is 2%, 4.5%, and 10% at each respective part. An 8p def gives a 10% damage increase for 56 seconds.
Sylphas2005-05-20 19:49:17
It'll stop their active offense. You can reject/enemy to get passive effects going. And I've never actually tried Parade; how long is the recovery on it?

Stag had Stagaura, which provided def against both type of physical damage (if I remember correctly). So, I think we had our equivalent of Shine or something, but unfortunately it got removed. It would be good, if you suggested a revamped version of Stagaura to be reintroduced in your next envoy report. A Stag Aura skill (Mythical, so it's not that easy to get) that enhances weapons and/or defences, perhaps.

Where did you hear about this Stagaura, I've never heard of it before. And Stagform have never given any types of physical protection as far as I could remember.

I just tested, Darkmoon is 3 minutes long, so with 8 phases, you'll get 22.5 seconds in each of the phases. I don't know where that 8p def for 10% damage is from since if you're right, then in all together it would be (2 + 4.5 + 10 + 10) % damage increase or reduction since Full moon covers both heavy damage increase and reduction. Isn't that 26.5% damage reduction and increase over a period of 3 minutes?

It was in the open beta. It was removed at the time Stoneskin was removed from the mage archetype (but later returned) and draconis was seriously nerfed.

Ah, if someone had told me about that earlier then I might had asked for it in the last Envoy Report. Maybe on the next one then.
Desdemona2005-05-20 22:40:58
I'm disappointed in my Envoy! Not knowing Stag Skills that were... I'm kidding. Anyway, yeah, Stag Aura was dropped during the time all the defence things like Toughness were flushed down the drain. Stag Aura was replaced by Stag Hide (ask for a replacement for Stag Hide, btw, so Fitness gets upgraded and protects against both cold/hot, so it becomes useful to every warrior), and so things are as they are now.

No, because it doesn't stack or anything, the 10% is the flat figure.

I'm fairly certain it does give the same level of physical protection that drawdown does. It just isn't mentioned in the AB file.
Sylphas2005-05-21 01:31:25
I'll have to test that, never noticed a difference.

It used to, in close, just as it used to give us strength and con. But now, it doesn't.

Stagform used to give strength and constitution?
That's exactly the upgrade it needs... to give you +1 strength and +1 constitution.
Desdemona2005-05-21 02:08:11
Ha. Another suggestion for the envoy report... now if only Hartstone and Serenguard agreed to this.
Singollo2005-05-21 02:13:06
Moon seems to be about taking and giving out damage, my guess is that Stag is intended for speed and mobility. They really should fix paints so that they work with armour, but not great robes, that'd be a nice starting point.

Did you even bother to read the Envoy Report I posted on the guild clan? This is what it said.

Stagform- Though the regeneration provided by this ability is very nice,
it is severely limiting in other aspects. The +1 dex does almost nothing
for a Serenguard, similarly for a Hartstone Druid. If this was changed
to a +1 con instead, this would make it a lot more useful.

Wow, are you certain? If so, I've been wasting a lot of power. +1 dex just isn't that great.

You're forgetting the awesome +1 regeneration.
