Alrighty, I'm bored to no end, so I spent 48 minutes thinking of a thread.
So, here it is.

What's the most decadent and/or craziest food that you've eaten?

Mine is probably chocolate, wraped in deepfried bacon, wrapped in deepfried burrito's.

Oh the decadence.

Fake Edit: Oh yea, I also have raspberry jam and cheese on my toast.

I take your chocolate creation.
And raise you a deepfried Mars bar.
Oh so Gooey.

Craziest food? Dunno, some seafood. Mussles, oysters, etc. Oysters btw, are disgusting.
Amaru2005-05-26 13:33:30
Wha? Mussels and oysters are nice. Even better are those little baby squids, fried whole so they're all crispy. Mm.

I ate 6 holly berries when I was three.

And had to go to hospital.
Richter2005-05-26 13:37:37
They're poisonous?
Amaru2005-05-26 13:52:49
Apparently.
Richter2005-05-26 13:57:43
*snicker* That sucks. I was never into eating random things that weren't at the dinner table, when I was a kid.
Amaru2005-05-26 14:23:31
Yeah, the best thing is that after having those and going to hospital to get them out, I ate a whole tree of mildly poisonous berries a year later.

They looked like blackberries ! Seriously..

Ooh, snails are good. I like 'em spicy!

I've had lots of interesting stuff. Amazing what these people can cook... I've had just about every part of a cow/pig (feet, ears, tongue, stomach, etc. No reproductive parts though!).
Caffrey2005-05-26 19:04:09
hmmm crazy food... Octopus, squid, baby squid (yuk) and mussels... all nice apart from the baby squid which i managed one bite of but just couldnt face eating the rest, with its tentacles and all.... hmm shark was actually not as nice as i'd hoped.

As for decadent... well I just made a sandwich.. fresh baked soft subway roll, butter, roquet, watercress and spinach salad, chunks of creamy Saint Agur cheese and... Alaskan Coho wild smoked salmon... drool.gif

I had a 13 cheeses weekend recently, i pretty much lived on cheese and crackers for two days biggrin.gif

That would be Calamari. Pretty common at most restaurants here.

I love eel, especially smoked eel. Very good.
Unknown2005-05-28 02:41:53

Right, we don't get it here.

Also we don't have veal in the UK, it's banned because of some animal rights crap. I adore veal.
Shiri2005-05-28 07:24:22
Eel, not veal. As in the fish. I used to go to Potsuoli (sp?) when I lived in Italy, and they had eel there, but I never ate them, or any other of the various fish there, after one of them gobbed in my eye at age ~4.

Mmm, the best is chocolate creme brulee. The waitress gave me two to go on my way out along with some other things at this churrascaria called Gaucho's Grill. If you're familiar with creme brulee at all, it's a delicious custard with fired sugar on top to create a nice almost candy top. Anyways, this one was made with a chocolate custard or something or other. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
