Are bookies planned for implementation soon?

Ala HELP BOOKIES and HELP FORBOOKIES?

I think that's an Achaea remnant. Again.

It was a stupid and unused idea in Achaea.

It'd be relatively easy (famous last words) feature to implement but I never saw a great demand or need for it. If there's a lot of you out there that actually want the bookie feature, speak out.

I would use it!

It wouldn't change anything, or even be a viable income for whoever takes it, but it would still be amusing.

In fact, isn't just a derivation of a player-run lottery?

And lotteries sure do alright when we have them.

Edit: Actually, roulette would be a better analogy. Player-run roulette, just with more freedom.

And I've not heard anyone saying that roulette ingame is dumb.

You could do it yourself without a whole system implemented, that way you would be the only one abouts really.

Honestly, I think implementing a poker system would go over much better and be more widely used. Perhaps a yearly tourney or even just tables to sit down and join would be a hit

Poker sounds like a fine idea (not that I'd use it). But thats something that can come later.

Bookmaking is already coded.

Though it would be nice if you could bet on books in the gambling establishments of each city, rather than having to be in person.

I like the idea too, but....

bookies=>system we've had the code for but never implemented=>(theoretically) easy to implement

poker=>system we have no code for=>divert lots of coding resources to this project

While I'm certainly not adverse to the poker idea, it's difficult to justify diverting our coding resources especially when we have AT LEAST a year's worth of development already planned out.

Alas, even game developers got to know when to hold them, know when to fold em, know when to walk away and know when to run...

A year? I'd say more like two...

Even if it took only 1 hour to implement, you'd be throwing away the $15-$25 you pay your employ to work for that hour. Books were a waste and were never used.

Estarra and Hajamin know I've asked about this many times, granted maybe it didnt get much use in Achaea but maybe Lusternia would be different, seeing as though many players in lusternia came from other realms and bookmaking would be rather new to them.

Now what would be funny is having the influence skillset effect poker somehow in terms of your bluffing ability.
