Since surely it wouldn't be fair to give warriors 3 options (axe sword or blunt) just make axes be in blademastery, it takes virtually no coding, and will allow a wider range of RP etc. I seriously doubt it would be overpowering, I just think it would be more interesting...
A simple and effective way to make lusternia a little more interesting.
Whaddaya think?

You can't really stab with an axe. Especially not "pierce someone's heart" or "precision strike a nerve cluster" or something.
Shryke2005-05-29 16:35:44
shiri you reply waaay too fast... That is a good point though, maybe change the messages a little bit, it would still be easier than making a whole new skillset.

I'm thinking make axe mastery like blademaster, but with a few significant changes. Artery cuts and skills of that sort still work great with axes. It would be cool to see limbs completely chopped off at heavy or critical wounding level, dropping the appendage, and any weapons, etc. as a trophy. Then apply regeneration as a cure. I would also say completely move the beheading skill from blademaster to axes, since it takes a good bit of work to lob someones head off. Ohhh, and for the near trans power skill, make something like "Cleave", which does heavy wounding damage to vitals in a big hack downwards.

Noooo... I'm a bonecrusher and really wanted to use an axe.
Desdemona2005-05-29 19:15:27
I'm currently using axes, but I'm learning blademastery because I thought "Nah, axes won't have their own specialization. So I might as well begin learning something :,("... Still, I like axes so much that I won't be switching over broadswords UNTIL I reach Lunge or Rend. Either way, if suddenly the surprise of Knights actually having an AXE specialization occurs... I'll switch!
Richter2005-05-29 19:57:39
I'm hoping for an axe specialization sometime. The only things that make sense are for 1. Us to get one, or 2. Us not to get one. None of this "axes are in blademaster change the messages" stuff.

Axes, if anywhere, should be in the Bladecrushers. Even though they cut and slash people, axes belong to the bludgeoning family of the weaponry.

Yeah, Axes and Broadswords should both be of the same specialization. They aren't slashing weapons historically - more like bludgeoning weapons with a more focused bashing surface than a club.

Roark has replied to this topic many times.. more specializations for warriors are certainly planned, but it all depends on when the coders can get around to it.
Xavius2005-05-29 21:18:31
I thought Roark's response was that there were specializations for those coming, but they wouldn't be for knighthood. Imma have to go looking for that.

Bladecrushers?
