3009h, 3767m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
In a blaze of holy light, a celestial archangel suddenly appears.
The Handmaiden of Shakiniel flies in from the northwest, her sword drawn and
shield held high.
3009h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
Amaru raises a hand towards you, and you are engulfed in a dazzling fountain of
celestial light. You writhe and burn while gripped in this holy blaze.
2477h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-

The Nil Grim Horror grabs ahold of Amaru with a rotting taloned claw, making
him shiver and turn blue.
2477h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
You may take another dose of allheale.
2477h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
Amaru takes a drink from a diamond vial.
2477h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
You cannot contain the convulsions in your stomach any longer and double over,
retching violently.
1988h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
Your stomach becalms itself.
2151h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
The allheale burns your throat and makes your eyes water.
You are no longer dizzy.
2151h, 4220m, 3740e, 10p exkdb-
The potion heals and soothes you.
2584h, 4140m, 3740e, 10p xkdb-
Amaru chants rhythmically under his breath.
2584h, 4140m, 3740e, 10p xkdb-
Amaru calls down an inquisition upon you, and a pillar of holy fire strikes you
from the heavens. A bright pain streaks through your body but you cannot move
or even cry out in agony.

2584h, 4140m, 3740e, 10p xdb-
Raising her hand towards you, the Handmaiden of Shakiniel releases a ball of
white light, which envelops you in a paralyzing flash.

The pain of ritualistic inquisition subdues your actions.

You feel yourself released from the painful inquisition.

So...next to be rediculously easy to pull off, since it requires no timing after I'm inflicted with heretic and infidel (which spam you with: epilepsy, vomiting, hallucinations and stupidity every two seconds), and infidel can just be spammed...it strips all defences, including vitae, lichdom, drawdown, nightkiss, stagform, crowform, all totem spirits and every other defence you might have..stuns you for randomly 6 to 10 seconds (can't even QL)... it doubles damage done to you in those 6-10 seconds.

After that I tested radiance out of the arena without any defences, since inquisition strips them all, and the radiance did 650.

I'm not sure how this skill is justifyable...is there any reason it is so powerful and easy to use?

As my log in the other thread proves, it DOES take an aura opening to do inquisition. That's your #1 mistake.
Thorgal2005-06-05 11:16:57
Yeah, but you can see the glow even if they're not in the room..
Amaru2005-06-05 11:24:01
Pssssh, there's a simple explanation.

We're talking SOULS here Thorgal! Inquisition is nothing short of a spiritual experience. I can -sense- the piercing of your unclean aura using the power of the Light!

Balance > Realism.
Or so I've been told.
Amaru2005-06-05 15:27:13
It's balanced. Inquisition = lich.
Unknown2005-06-05 15:29:00
So where does Trueheal fit?
Amaru2005-06-05 15:29:20
Sacraments = necromancy.
Unknown2005-06-05 15:31:56
Yeah... and? Trueheal is the skill corresponding to Lichdom.
Amaru2005-06-05 15:35:01
Lich > trueheal.

Lich < trueheal + inquisition.

Lich + every other necro skill = trueheal, inquisition + every other sacraments skill

Lich > trueheal.

That's not true.
Meh, whatever.
Thorgal2005-06-05 15:40:54
Amaru...

Trueheal is the equivalent of Lichdom.

Inquisition is the equivalent of Sacrifice.

Also, I don't think anyone but celestians will argue against that sacraments is the most powerful secondary skillset of the game.
Amaru2005-06-05 15:43:49
Yah, the most powerful secondary skillset.

Secondary to necromancy.

We all know there are numerous drawbacks to lichdom, all easily exploitable.
What's truheal's excuse? And the instant balance/eq regain, and not requiring it.
Ceren2005-06-05 15:47:46
Generally, people who have trueheal will think lich is overpowered and people who have lich will think trueheal is overpowered. Sad fact of lusternian life
Unknown2005-06-05 15:52:29
I can't understand how Magangora keeps asking for upgrades to their skills when they pwn anyone on the battlefield already.
Be that your own usage of the skills you have or the skills themselves, as long as Magnagora keeps being the strongest force in the game no matter what, I don't see the problem. dry.gif
Amaru2005-06-05 15:55:11
She's always right when she agrees with me, isn't that strange? I agree.
Manjanaia2005-06-05 15:56:08
They pwn the battlefields because they have more high class fighters and they work harder.

I think as skills, trueheal is better than lich, and inquisition is better than sacrifice. I think it's the principle that you can beat on someone until they die and they suffer no experience loss as a result of lich.
Unknown2005-06-05 15:58:09
It's only a guess, but maybe that's because good Magnagora's fighters get beaten by good Celestian fighters because of the unbalanced skills?
Amaru2005-06-05 16:00:59
But in terms of overall game balance, it's all been thought out. Think of things like the weakness of the Merian race and the fact that there will always be more evil than good fighters, and it makes sense that sacraments should have two strong abilities.

A Merian is by nature weak defensively. Trueheal counters it. A Merian is also by nature weak offensively. Trueheal and inquisition help with this. It doesn't cause any major imbalance in the overall scheme of things; it's clearly been well thought out and on the whole, if you take POLITICS as an example, doesn't cause any huge inequalities in gameplay.
