Ok, so here's the log of the Magnagora Festival's Opening Ceremonies.
The first is the Nihilists, the second is the Geomancers and the third is the Ur'Guards.

Enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
(Magnagora): Daevos says, "Well, beginning now, if you arent here hurry."
Daevos coughs softly.

You see the following people here:
Aajen, Ixion, Llexyn, Sudoxe, Dryphus, Cooper, Marcalo, Ashar, Asarnil, Crylia, Aurella, Eruttu, Jadryga, Alger, Eiru, Kujo, Zantier, Daevos, Kayde

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "Ok then, since most of you are gathered here already, I will proceed. But before we start the festivities, I have a few words that I would like to share with you all."

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "The main purpose of this festival is to celebrate what makes the Empire great, and to acknowledge those who have contributed significantly to our advancement. But first a question must be asked and answered. And that is what is it that has brought us this far. What quality do we have that has pushed us to excel past anyone else?"

Daevos pauses for a second, a slight frown upon his face.

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "There can be no denying that we are the greatest city, indeed the greatest community of any kind, in the basin of Life. Each day, denizens of more than half the villages in the realms bend knee to us, laboring in our service. Each day, the warriors of our city bring fear to our enemies and victory to our city. Each day, worshippers of Nil and all it stands for spread the taint to another corner of the realms it has not yet reached, another area that as yet remains unaltered. Our dominance is undisputable."

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "But what is the source of this dominance? Who is the cause? Is it those who travel from village to village, insuring their loyalty and overseeing their labor? Is it those who do battle with our enemies, protecting our allies and slaying our foes? Is it those who devote themselves to the worship of Nil and the Taint, championing our principles and engineering change across the realms? Which group is responsible for the superiority of our empire?"

Daevos pauses for a second, a slight frown upon his face.

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "The truth of the matter though is that we are strong because of each and every one of you, and that there is no one person or group that has led us this far, it is our unity and perseverance. Our will to never back down nor give up. And to face any challenges that appear in front of us without fear or hesitation, that has risen us from a mere Province to a mighty Empire."

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "Every person gathered here has
helped to cement our hold over the villages of the realms. Every person gathered here has helped to defeat our enemies. Every person gathered here has helped to change the very face of the basin of life. Without the citizens who have contributed their efforts over the decades, we would be a hand without fingers, a ladder without steps. We would be nothing."

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "And if you have not yet had a chance to serve your empire, be patient; your time will come. There is always work to be done, battles to be won, change to be en gen dered. Because we are Magnagora, proud bastion of the Taint, and the Engine of Transformation. Never forget that."

Pupil Dryphus says, "Amen."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper bows low before the Megalith
of Doom.

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "Now as I said the main purpose of this festival is to honour the numerous contributions of our citizens, and for that reason we will be having ceremonies shortly to honour the guilds that they are members of. We will start by honouring the Nihilists, our priests and teachers of the ways of Nil and our Demon Lords."

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "Ashar will be coordinating that effort, so please follow his lead."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Thank you, Emperor."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "If all of you would travel to Nil, the ceremony will take place there."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Those of you who cannot make the journey, follow me."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Do I have everyone who needs to go up?"

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "I will be down for more in a moment."

You follow Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper ether to before
the Megalith of Doom.
The Megalith of Doom suddenly flares with pulsating energy as Ashar steps
through.

Before the Megalith of Doom.
Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Is everyone ready?"

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Very well."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper stoops and begins to trace a
pattern in the ground with one finger, chanting to himself as he does so. His
finger leaves a glowing pattern in the ground, and as he finishes his design it
reveals itself to be a shining pentagram. He stands and addresses the
assembled worshippers.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Lord Raezon, in his pursuit of the arcane and secret, teaches us that nothing is Forbidden to one who is strong enough to take it. Beneath this principal tenet, each of the Demon Lords represents one idea that other, lesser cultures consider taboo."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Concepts they fear, acts they shun."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "The path of the Nihilists is to embrace these taboos, and to use them against those too weak, or too foolish to do so."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Long have we upheld these principals, and seen to it that Magnagora served them dutifully; together they make us a force unlike any other in the basin, a force that cannot be withstood."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Lord Gorgulu teaches us that to devour, to consume, is not to destroy, but to empower oneself. Take what your enemy will not use and keep it close; allow yourself to be consumed by your darkest desires and you will gain the power to make them reality. Do not fear to be swallowed, for you will always emerge changed, and in change lies our power."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper reaches into the Mists of
Nil, and brings forth a shining piece of light essence. Beckoning to his
demonic thrall, he holds out the essence, which the demon eyes distastefully
before obediently taking it from his masters grasp. He consumes the essence in
a single gulp, and his eyes begin to glow. After a moments hesitation, he
regurgitates the piece of essence into his masters outstretched hand. It now
glows darkly and pulses with an unholy power. A rune appears at the
southeastern point of the pentagram.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Lady Nifilhema teaches us that what does not kill us only makes us stronger. Others fear pain as though it were an unbearable fate, but the servants of Nil know better. Learn to bear what your enemy cannot, and how to inflict it; allow yourself to stand unfazed in the face of bodily torture and you have already defeated a foe who cannot. Each torment you can withstand is a weapon; arm yourself well."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper extends one hand, and his
demonic thrall traces over it with one blackened claw, causing a deep gash to
open in the skin of his masters forearm. The wound bleeds freely, and begins
to fester and putrefy, quickly causing gangrenous growths to wind along the
length of the Ashar’s arm. His face is impassive and emotionless. A few drops
of blood fall from his arm onto the southwestern corner of the pentagram, which
flashes with a sudden light as a rune appears there.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Lord Baalphegar teaches us that knowledge, no matter how trivial, is power. Discover your enemy's secrets, and conceal your own; a foe too free with his weaknesses has already lost. Do not fear the dark, for the dark has the power to conceal, allowing you to act in stealth and shadow."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper fades from view as he
finishes intoning the third lesson, until he is entirely invisible. After a
moment, a rune begins to trace itself in the ground at the northeastern point
of the pentagram. As the last lines of the rune appear, so does Ashar, whose
eyes flash for a moment as the rune flares to life.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Lord Ashtorath teaches us that to allow fear to stand between us and our foes is weakness. Banish fear from yourself, and you will instill it in others; give your being over to self-righteous wrath, and the wicked will tremble and know they have done wrong. Enter each battle as though you have already won."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper motions with one hand as he
speaks, and the mists seem to swirl discontentedly as three shining archangels
appear from thin air. Ashar shows no sign of fear or hesitation as he engages
his foes; instead, his features contort with rage as he showers each celestial
being with cosmic fire, destroying them utterly. The ashes of the final angel
fall upon the northwestern corner of the pentagram, where a shining rune
appears.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Master Luciphage understands all these lessons, and adds the last: that Death, far from being our worst enemy, is our most powerful weapon. If two men do battle and each fears to die, either may lose; but the one who fears nothing - not his own emotions, not the pain of the flesh, and least of all his own demise - has already won."

A single tear drops from Ashar's eye as he stops his own heart, slaying himself
instantly.

The soul of Ashar d'Valeros says, "Death is just a beginning."

The ghost of Ashar turns to a dark, murky miasma, which slowly solidifies into
a foul, undead creature.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Make this great journey without fear, and the lords of Nil will reward you."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Send your foes cowering into their embrace, and know that you are the strongest."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Stand proud atop the corpses of the less enlightened, and remember that you are citizens of Mighty Magnagora."

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper finishes speaking just as
the final rune appears at the topmost point of the star. As it does so, all
five runes flash, and the rune representing Lord Raezon appears in the center
of the pentagram. The pattern, and the ritual, is complete.

With a flourish of his arm, Ashar bows deeply.

Daevos inclines his head politely to Ashar.

Demon Priest Ashar d'Valeros, the Infernal Whisper says, "Now, I will transport those of you who have learned this lesson back to the Megalith. follow me, pleace."

(Magnagora): Llexyn says, "If everyone would follow one person and that one person please teleport to me, we'll begin this ceremony!"

Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death says, "Follow me."

You follow Warlord Daevos Feyranti, Marshal of Death ether to Raven's Boulevard
nearing a junction.

"Ok!" Llexyn exclaims.

Llexyn, the Twisted Mistress says, "Please follow me."

"Ok!" Llexyn exclaims.

Llexyn, the Twisted Mistress says, "Shall we begin?"

Daevos nods his head emphatically.

Llexyn, the Twisted Mistress says, "Alright, this is a short play that you all should enjoy."

Llexyn's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

The Geomancer walks through a verdant forest, sadly noting the stagnant
features and unchanging terrain. The leaves are a uniform green, each shaped
the same, moving only when the wind stirs them to rustle against their
identical brothers and sisters. The trunks of the trees are indistinguishable
from one another, only the whorls in their rough brown bark setting them apart
from thousands like them. Finally, the Geomancer can tolerate the conformity no
longer. He kneels on the soft earth and opens his mouth, causing a thick,
viscious smoke to pour over the ground and soak into the earth itself. Within
moments, the plants begin to warp and change, beco min g twisted and blackened, and soon the once-forest is a tapestry of beautiful mutations. Satisfied with his work, the Geomancer crossed his legs on the newly Tainted earth and begins to meditate.

The Geomancer's eyes blink open as he breaks his meditation. He senses that
enemies are drawing near - the antlike builders of that forest come to seek
vengeance for the so-called defilement of their realm. The Geomancer stands and
stomps once on the ground, and the land itself begins to move. The things that
once were plants and trees begin to shift and grow hostile, and vast walls of
Tainted stone burst forth from the earth, shielding the Geomancer from his
enemies. He sits back down to meditate, knowing that the earth will tell him
when his foes draw near and will help to ensure that they do not survive the
meeting.

The serenity of the Geomancer's meditation is disrupted by the sound of
shouting from the other side of the wall that surrounds him. He knows, now,
that one of the friends of the forest has survived the onslaught of his
demesne, and that now the battle will begin. He makes a motion with one hand,
and the walls shoot back into the ground from whence they came, revealing a
heavily armed elfen warrior, who bellows angrily at him before charging. The
Geomancer smiles slighty, and begins to mold the light and air into an image of
himself, which stands before him beckoning the enraged elf. As soon as the
warrior's blow lands, the illusion shatters, and the elfen whirls around at the
sound of the Geomancer chuckling softly from behind him. In one hand the mage
carries a small stone marked with an arcane symbol, which he flings at the
startled warrior. Upon impact, the stone emits a tiny flash of light, and the
warrior's face slackens into a drooling mask of idiocy. He looks with
bafflement at his surroundings, trying to determine where he is and what he was doing.

The Geomancer's features harden into a cruel sneer, and he makes an almost
dismissive motion with his left hand. The earth explodes into action as a
jagged boulder tears its way up to the astonished elfen. Before the warrior can
react, it rips into him, rending his flesh and sending him sailing several feet
away to land on the hard stone ground. Before he can rise, the Geomancer begins
to chant softly, and the elf strains to hear his whispered words. As he gazes
on in confusion, still unable to understand whats happening to him, the
Geomancer's face contorts into a triumphant grin. Suddenly, the ground beneath
the elfen opens wide, for min g itself into a cavernous maw that threatens to
swallow him whole. The warrior grasps frantically at the edge of the chasm,
desperately trying to save his life, but to no avail. The sharpened edges of
the hole cause him to lose his grip, and with a final scream he slips, and
falls into the inky blackness that lies beneath the earth.

The Geomancer pauses to reflect for a while after his opponent's death, and to
complete his meditation. He has, he knows, felled a powerful enemy, and
captured a val uable corner of the realms on behalf of the Taint. However, there are hundreds more such forests that must be liberated from the oppression of conformity, and thousands of bodies of water, each identical to the last, that must be freed from uniformity's chokehold. So he stands and begins to walk
towards the next verdant forest or crystalline pond, knowing that his work will
never be truly complete until each and every part of the realms has submitted
to the power of the Taint.

"Ok!" Llexyn exclaims.

Llexyn, the Twisted Mistress says, "This is the end of the play."

Llexyn's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

(Magnagora): Daevos says, "We will now be honouring last but definately not least the Ur'guard. All citizens who arent a member of the guild, follow Ixion, everyone else follow me."

I'm glad I wasn't spammed with those bugs but what happened is that for every person that followed in the room, that followed -me-, they got the illusions like for each person. I know at one point, someone said they saw it illusioned 12 times, getting lag for it.

So not sure it's a bug but it shouldn't have spammed that many times when one person was leading a group into it.

Oh, and the illusion was programmed. smile.gif
Revan2005-06-07 04:02:56
I was hoping there's be a speech from a Geomancer after that, but otherwise, I'm glad the programmed illusions went well!
Asarnil2005-06-07 04:37:28
If by well, you mean "Gave everyone following Llexyn between half and three pages of spammage", then yes it went well. I honestly didn't bother to try and read it until on here because sorting through the spammage was just too much of a pain.

Better that we forget that. Magnagora is so pathetic, we made 40k when the most expensive kiss was 300.

Good 'ol Illusion plays, they're so fun. But yeah, good job, too bad Glom wont have anything like that with our current Culture minister. Though it'd be nice to do something like that, i think it might be a bit hard, well the Ritual mainly because the Shadowdancers on have a ritual room.. yet. I wish i coulda been there for that, well not the spam sad.gif
