I remember on achaea soemoen had an adoption clan that helped A lot of new players and old find kids and become parents. I know i have a hard time finding parents -sniffle-

I think it is better to use the forums for assistance in that. Post what type of character you have or plan to have, and maybe you will get some interest that will turn into IC parents.

The problem with using the forums is that the forums are completely OOC, whereas a clan could be completely IC, should it's founders wish it.

OOC connections roleplayed properly are much better than IC random stuff I think.

Yesss, I admit one of my best parent-child relationships in IRE (I was the child) was in Imperian, where my main character was good friends with the mother, and when I made the alt (to buy credits on!) we decided it would be fun if I RPed her daughter. Came up with a whole history or anything. But there's no saying you can't meet someone like that IC.

Starting the whole thing OOC doesn't really give you a solid base as to meeting, et cetera. I know some imagination can solve that, but a clan CAN be a good starting base. You can work on it from there.

I dislike this reason for two reason, one, it's kinda stupid, and two, most of the parents would probably pressure them into being their proteges and probably try and get them to buy credits. If you want to meet parents, talk to people, get out there, do it the proper way. A clan negates any purpose, it's like having a dating machine, negates the purpose of chance.

Ask on the forums if anyone is looking for a child of theirs to become a player. Then you won't be falling into the same, boring repetiton of "I adopted him/her."
