They don't. Deepwounds are too strong now. No sense is using broadswords anymore. I have a pair of 260 speed rapiers that I'll switch to but I want it back as it was before, PLEASE. We were wrong. We whine too much! The grass isn't greener on this side! sad.gif sad.gif
Amaru2005-06-07 16:26:27
No, Shiro. You missed my point.

I meant let's have a poll: Who cares about faelings?

No or No.

I think you have to look at more that just sucks or does not suck, there are a lot of factors here. We're ok, but weak. Curing machines, but that's all we seem to do. *shrug*

And be nice Amaru, you got some good upgrades. We're looking at balance, mechanics, and non-suckage.
Richter2005-06-07 16:52:26
Oh, feel free to prove me wrong as well, I'm open to that.
Unknown2005-06-07 16:55:30
Your constitution is low, your int is high, you can surge and get 4k/2k going pretty easily with a level 2 vial bonus all the time and that's at level 60ish. You really don't need more than 4k to survive.

That said, your offense may still be the best as far as swinging goes, though night and crow are pretty weak compared to other knight skillsets.

Sacraments and necromancy are both better than night and moon by quite a bit.

I agree with that.
Amaru2005-06-07 17:25:48
On Envoys right now, we're working on:

1) Getting these recent race and Warrior changes balanced out for the long term

2) Balancing out the Warrior skills to put them all on the level of Sacraments/Moon/Night. Starting with Necromancy, then Stag.
Unknown2005-06-07 17:33:17
You really can't balance out necromancy and Sacraments with night and moon anymore. SInce Drawdown and Nightkiss has that 10 plus to each stat on their weapons
Amaru2005-06-07 17:36:44
Shiro you fool, I don't think you understand me.

Moon, Night and Sacraments.

(are better than)

Stag and Necromancy.
Terenas2005-06-07 17:36:59
I wouldn't say that Night and Moon are particularly on par with Sacraments, there are a host of abilities in both that have little to no benefits to knights. As Daevos found out, there are perhaps only 2 abilities that actually benefit knights when it comes to fighting, this is similar to Moon, only Drawdown and Aura (magic resistance one) really help us.

Necromancy has some nifty skills, but there are also some very bad ones, with the recent upgrade of putrefaction up to 45% damage reduction, they still need a good fix to abilities like Raise Dead, but otherwise, most other skills are fairly good.

Stag is a joke, end of story, especially for knights. There are little to no benefits whatsoever for fighting, even worse than Crow, and Stagform is the worst out of all specialized Totems trans skills.
Richter2005-06-07 17:38:58
In case anyone cares, I have crow. Not night, or moon.

And like I said before, we're doing this off of base stats, I don't give a damn if I can surge for whatever, because I might be able to, but novice joeshmoe cannot.
Amaru2005-06-07 17:39:53
Sorry, but I'd consider things like moonburst (even if it's weak, it's a magic alternative for physically resistant races), shafts, darkmoon, moonbeam, drawdown - as equal to Sacraments. The same applies to Night.

Crow, Stag, Necromancy need little upgrades to put them back on par.
Richter2005-06-07 17:45:09
And how many of the people that voted no -are- faelings?

And yes, Amaru, I'd agree those three need a bit of a boost. Stag, then Crow, then necromancy, from what I've seen.
Terenas2005-06-07 17:46:01
Since when does Moonbeam help in fighting? Shafts helps as much as hinder us, it's on par with your Carcer, without the 4 power cost, and that's a novice ability for you.

Moonburst is great, except for 2 problems. Most knights barely have any intelligence that exceeds 14, do you honestly expect any knights to do any damage with moonbursts with such low Int? It's a magic alternative for damage, yeah, but that comes at the price of doing little to no damage with your weapons. Second problem is that everyone and their mothers come with racial resistances now, there are what, 2 to 3 races left that are weak against them, and there is a whole skillset devoted to reducing magic damage, not to mention you can get a magic-proof cloak.

And Crow has Swoop (whatever that does damage from the trees), which does a ton of damage and costs no powers, better than Gore or Moonburst for warriors.
Sylphas2005-06-07 17:49:06
Perch is just a boosted cling, isn't it?
