Yes.

The former two - the last never applies. Every attack in a type of ego battle is the same, but if you keep using the same one they get wise, so you have to keep swapping.

Just pay attention to their response when you try different influence types on them. Some are clearly dismissed easily, while others aren't.

So does anyone know how long the various ego battles last?

For instance, I know it's easiest to empower guards, but when I want exp, waiting 12 hours for them to be influence-able again doesn't really cut it. I'm trying begging recently, they only give 0-120 gold a pop but hey, I figure it will wear off sooner.

Well, charity seems to last several hours now too. Le sigh.

Guards hold influence for a long time because they don't repop. Villagers DO repop, and reset when they would.

analyze is a skill in influencing where you see their mood, it's like "he is a brave soul, he is currently laid back" That supposedly tells you which influencing type to use... We dunno which to use though
