I don't mind RPing any specific city or commune...
With that in mind which guild would be best for me (combat wise) if I were planning on only buying 300 creddies.
Thanks

You have never been one, so how would you know if only 300 credits are needed?
Manjanaia2005-06-26 17:51:08
Hmm. I'd agree, if you are not planning to become one of the advanced fighters, because then you'll need illusions and runes/dreamweaving for that. If you plan only to fight in defence of the city's interests then trans aquamancy is pretty potent, as a mage in a demesne can really help the team.
EDIT: So geomancer is also viable.

I don't know what you should do, but I know you should NOT go Warrior, and I assume Guilds with Ents are a bit limited also.
Your best bet is probabbly a Demense guild, Mage/Druid.

I was thinkin maybe this odd combo could work... What about a mugwump ebonguard that transed totems and used choke...
Torak2005-06-26 19:20:36
Aquas, they take no player fighting ability other then having a half decent system. Its really simple, sit in a demesne, staff cast, staff cast, staff cast, staff cast, get body, rinse repeat.

And what exactly do you do that's so special?
Order Demon kill
sting
sting
sting
sting

That's pretty much how you fight, Torak.

EDIT: Okay, more seriously - yes, that will work on some people, but only on other mages/druids and the untankyish people. On anyone considerably tanky or anyone who actually uses anything to hinder you, it takes a bit more than that.
Torak2005-06-26 19:27:18
Yes because I can repeatedly sting right Narsrim? Do you actually think before you speak? Its on an 8 second balance and is shrugged almost everytime at trans resil. Unfortunetly I have to do more then one attack like youself, keep on moonbursting bud. Throw in the odd waning and you have yourself an elite like Narsrim.
EDIT: No I am not saying I am skilled. I am simply pointing things out.

In response to Thorgal, I'd say if you want to have the most impact: go Aquamancer or Hartstone. Druids/Mages are always needed and Geomancers smell bad because they spend all their time in gas...
Shamarah2005-06-26 19:29:35
I'm going to agree with the people saying mage/druid here if you want to have the most impact in team combat. However, don't expect to win in a duel with just your demesne.

If you think waning constitutes an elite offense, you need to seriously shut up and sit back as that is one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard. Aeon is nice against people /who cannot cure/ (including you), but against the general upper class fighters is nothing too special.
Furthermore, anyone who dies to raw damage when I just sit there and moonburst is a sad, sad person. Ever heard of web? Hangedman? Shielding?
And FYI: you shrugg it only 33% of the time with trans resilience.
Torak2005-06-26 19:33:55
Uh I was saying thats all you really do, but ofcourse I am far too equivical I suppose. Maybe you haven't actually watched when I fight but I do hangedman quite often, and do shield..but yeah ignorance does shine through huh? Anyways enough hi-jacking this.
Unknown2005-06-26 19:43:16
if you want to be mugwump, warrior isn't the best choice since they rely almost solely on physical damage and wounding. their race, by design, seems to focus on the magically inclined guilds. i would have to agree with the others though, if you want to be ok with combat, be a mage or druid since their demesnes are where their power is at. can't go wrong with controlling areas and being able to target 20+ people at once with demesne effects
Shamarah2005-06-26 19:44:35
Who said anything about mugwumps...?

The problem with the above statement is you make it in the form of an insult. What makes it really bad is that you die to some aquas who do not even use a demesne to fight you....
Richter2005-06-26 20:12:02
Try a mage, definately not a warrior though, we need too many skills to be effective.
Torak2005-06-26 20:46:36
Geb you are the only one who can kill me without a demesne. You are trans everything, you have arties, and you have a pet. I have one transed skill. It is no amazing feat. You staff me for 1300-1500.
