So, since not many people responded to the thread about people in the Northwest meeting, Olan and I decided to have our own meet!

I drove about two hours south, and we've been hanging out, playing Lusternia, N64, and eating junkfood all weekend. It's been great! If anyone wants to see these two charming young men, I have a webcam here, and my msn is invictus__@hotmail.com.

Yeah, so I saw the Coke 0 in a grocery store a week or two ago. This idea bothers me on a fundamental level. How can Coca-cola possibly have zero calories? What twisted feat of science could produce something even vaguely cola-like that absolutely cannot be burned as energy? The chemist in me (N.B. I am actually a computer scientist, my chemistry is vague and ill-remembered at best) weeps with shock and fury.

Truly, it is as if Estarra Herself, in Her previous form as Eris, has lunged forth into the real world and created an unholy chaotic abomination.

By using artifical chemicals that taste like coke but instead just eat your bowels . Wait, coke already does that! Heh.

I wonder how long before coke tries to bring this coke 0 crap to Australia. I pity people, I really do, but we can't all have ridiculous metabolism and be able to eat anything we want, can we?

Olan and I were wondering that as well, and we came to the conclusion we were pretty much drinking water, so it was ok.

90% of diet sodas have no calories already. They just replace the sweetener with this stuff that emits carcinogens instead of glucose when dumped in stomach acid.

don't knock meeting people off these games, my wife and i met threw achaea, my current gf at the time HATED HATED her, and i was deeply involed in aetolia at the time, so my current gf begged me to play achaea again so i could see how bad and mean this woman was, well about a week later me and the mean woman got together, 6 months after chatting everyday on the phone we met, and now we are married. so ya never know that person you are going to meet could be the soul mate your looking for, or a axe murder who waits till you go to sleep to sharpen his/her axe's in bed next to you, thankfully mines both and i love her for it.

Seriously. That is really romantic. Well, in a weird way, but its a good weird way! I tried the "meet them here and meet them in IRL" thing. Freaked me out big time. Pictures were off; he was freakin ugly. I literally just blinked at him, he said, "Hi, are you (name)?" And I was like, "....no..." I turned around, got back in my car, and sped away so freakin fast. *shudders*

I've actually never had that happen. Of course, the one I met was about three years older than his picture - a damn good thing, too. At least he told me that. It made him... 16. >.o

But, eww. Fat and ugly is grooossss. Especially when they lie about it.

When I frist got into chatting in the internet I met a few people and got involved with a psycho or two. Then I stopped completely. A few of the games I play have huge meets every so often or all meet up at Dragoncon. I think I'll could do that though.
