I'm not sure if its just me, but I think Lusternia is still fairly small player-wise. I see many of the same people, day after day, and it can be irritating knowing most of the people on QW.
So, here's my idea. Recruitment!
Nab your friends from other games, post on other game forums, vote for us on TMC and TMS, tell your friends, your enemies, and your pets!
I know most of us want more people to fight/buy from/sell to/RP with, etc, so here's our chance! Let's help make Lusternia capable of handling more cities, other continents, and more planes.

Stop making the credit market so unbearable to new players and we might get more.
Unknown2005-06-27 22:41:20
Mm I've had a link to Lusternia in my banner on another forum I frequent. I don't think it has nabbed anyway though (but I did find someone on Lusternia who also visits those forums ) so maybe I will make a thread on it and see if I can't bring some people over to try it out.
I wouldn't mind seeing the playerbase go up by around 20 on average, I think that would be nice. The most I ever see online is 80ish, the least is 40. If this went to 100 and 60 it would be a nice change.

I think I misrepresented myself when I stated I was the majority of the reason the credit market is the way that it is. That's like saying one person caused the great depression.

My friends don't seem to be interested in trying something text based
Richter2005-06-27 23:14:01
I used to make fun of people that played text-based games. *shrug*

Well too bad for them. Make fun of their lack of imagination!
Arundel2005-06-27 23:28:57
Ask them what they're playing instead and point out why you think they should play Lusternia instead.
Unknown2005-06-27 23:29:57
I have most of my closer friends playing this thing pretty regularly, in fact, I was recruited from them. I had fallen out of text games with Merentha (which had its share of problems) and their insane amount of assassins.
Most of my other friends aren't even gamers, so that kinda' kills it right there.... oh, yeah, and what the hell is up with the credits market, as Ialie mentioned.

It only takes one person in Lusternia .
Kaileigh2005-06-27 23:36:35
Tried to get a friend to play, he hated the obcessive pk (this was a while ago). I always link the page when I do character art I dunno if that has gotten anyone.
I'm kinda afraid of too many people turning into Achaea with their lack of anything that resembles roleplay.

That's a good point. If you're going to recruit people, make sure that they'll take the game seriously and respect the roleplay.
Marcalo2005-06-28 01:11:27
i've added at least 10 players to lusternia since i started now ya'll need to get to work, chop chop.
Unknown2005-06-28 09:35:12
We just need to eliminate the competition, just go advertise on Achaea and then Crash it!
Unknown2005-06-28 09:52:25
I tried to get a couple of my uni mates to play Lusternia, no success yet :/ The closest I got was getting someone to create a character but she was so steamrolled by the whole thing (never played a MUD before) that she never returned *sniffle* I had to run back then so I couldn't give her a walkthrough *sigh*
Regarding credit market.... There's no point really. I tried to put on reasonably priced credits a good couple of times but they're gone so soon I don't even see them on CREDITS FOR SALE, checking the instant after I put them up.

Ritcher you just want more Noobs to profit from
Besides what would happen if we got more noobs...
Anyone remember the noob clan where everyone was "equal" they were trying to abolish leadership in cities or something.. thats something we dont want happening

I had my brother play once. He thought the idea was cool, he joined the Hartstone and had fun for a little while, but I don't think he could appreciate the reading involved in a text based game .
Unknown2005-06-28 12:21:49
I rather enjoy it myself. Though no Java means I have to telnet into the game. Anyway, on the topic: I've already convinced one friend to come here, but I've been out of med school for a week, so I've been away from all my friends for a little bit a period. I think it is an excellent game from what I've experienced; that said, I would feel confident in telling those of friends who would enjoy it as well to come here.

This was my first real MUD after my friend brought me here. There was another he brought as well. But the other friend wasn't so satisfied.
Sarcasm.Begin();
This was because he was playing a poor race for quite possibly the worst guild in the game (Dracnari Celestine)
Sarcasm.End();
Back when I was still in my dorm for spring, I mentioned the game to a classmate, he said he'd tried it out but wasn't that interested.
Then, during the Viravain event, another friend joined, but seemed a bit turned off that it was a commerical mud, and his character was by and large ignored as the event was in full swing.
But I will not be swayed! I will find others. We will add their biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is Futile.
