Today is the 29th. It has been 23 days since Vis was expelled from Glomdoring. In that time, about the only thing he has managed to do is get unenemied to Celest.
That was about three weeks ago.
Since then, he has been working where he can to contribute to the city. The matter is "still being discussed" in the Star Council..
The purpose of this poll is to see what other people think I should do. Right now, I'm heavily inclined to quit. Logging in, hoping for some PK, or going mindlessly bashing, all the while having little/no social contact... Not a lot of fun. As a player, I'm ready to give up. As a character, Vis is still trying to stay patient.
Please keep this thread relatively flame free. Yes I know I burned all my bridges, and I deserve this, yadda yadda yadda.. This is not the thread for that stuff.
Thanks.

I would send someone you haven't spoken to about the same thing a letter reminding them that it has been X months since you applied.
#2, also.
#2, also.

I actually voted 'Continue as is and hope' because.. at the moment, I'm thinking about changing my mind on whether or not I care if you join Celest. They'll screw themselves eventually. But ehh.. don't get any hope you'll ever be a Paladin, especially aslong as I remain in leadership.

Ok. maybe its bad idea.
Try to convince Rafael that you now hate Tain and act like zeolt, maybe Rafael will see a companion in crusade against taint. This could be great RP.

I do think you should keep hoping for something. Originally I was going to have Shamarah oppose your citizenship but you've been having such a hard time that I decided to swap around my RP just because I thought it was unfair OOCly.
Your real problem is the major inactivity of Lyren and Lazul, I think.

If you quit, quit IRE games entirely, in fact, quit all games entirely..and head on with your real life.
If that's not possible yet, due to whatever reason, don't quit..and just stay and hope for the best, that they'll let you into Celest.

They're probably going to let you in Vis. As long as you behave you'll be a worthwhile investment to their arsenal of fighters. Almost kind of like Shiro and Magnagora, except I like Shiro now. He's a good guy.
Vesar2005-06-29 13:28:46
I voted continue as is. As Shamarah pointed out, the whole reason it's been delayed this long is the absence of Lyren and Lazul.
Joli2005-06-29 14:24:27
Well.. speaking from Joli's point of view.. She's still upset with Vis and if he doesn't play his cards right those feeling will turn into a deep hate for him. She still wants you to join Celest, so he can be happy. Maybe Hajamin can beat some sense into him on the other matter..
And Vesar, you forgot Lazul's hate for Visaeris...

on the note of shiro, I'm personally proud of him, and glad to have backed him
Marcalo2005-06-29 16:19:33
i voted quit, cause some one needs to have the resolve to! as for shiro ya i am glad i did all i could to get him into mag, he's turned out to be a worthwhile investment.

I know you hate my ideas... but if you don't want to make a cult, do something else unique.

Birds of a feather.

I like Visaeris. He's been involved in a truly bizarre number of fiascoes as a character, but hey...if Celest's leadership wants to give redemption a try *coughAcknorcough*...well, buck up and give it a try when it doesn't involve Politics.
For most of my life, I was pretty hard-ass about letting past enemies into the Empire...Marcalo changed my entire perspective on that, and all my experiences since then have just reinforced that you lose nothing in giving people a chance. If you want to keep them on a choke leash at first, fine, it's not a bad idea, and the bottom line is you can kick them out if they screw up. If they don't, everyone comes out better, and there's alot of fun RP to be had in the process.

I've learned, in Lusternia, that if you give a screw-up a second chance, they'll usually screw up. I've let two people back into my guild, because Shikari realizes we need people, and I regret it with both of them.
Ixion2005-06-30 20:19:27
I voted continue and hope. I mean.. if you quit, you won't be adding to my xp and my Lord's essence anymore.
Sarcasm aside, stick it out. I'm fairly confident you'll get into celest at some point, depending on how you play it.

But really, haven't we been answering his polls about what he should do for like... six months? And we keep telling him to stick it out? I wonder if he thinks that all the "sticking it out" so far has been worth it.

I can find plenty of examples of that. The hard part is finding the counterexample, really. I keep hoping there'll be one. When I'm down to hoping it's Visaeris, hope is getting thin.
Still, Gwylifar is less jaded than I am, though he's catching up quickly.
