After all this time, I still haven't quite mastered walking it seems. Today, I fell down, and broke my hand, and my face, on the ground. It's got me typing at about 8 words an hour, but since I haven't got much else to do while I've got a broken hand, I'll be here a lot. Rather than awkwardly trying to explain why it takes me a week to respond to anything in character, I figured I'd just put it here as a heads up. For the next four weeks, my powers of debate are extremely limited. I won't ask that no one kill me or anything, since that'd be pretty lame, and you'd have people claiming broken hands every week, but long story short: if you're after a fair fight, I ain't it.

quick, someone go jump him!
or better yet, sell him a system so he doesn't have to work those hands

I'm really sorry this happened to you...
I hope you get well soon, and that things will return to normal.

ahh yeh, also get well soon, falling over and breaking stuff hurts, and sucks when its your hands.
Shryke2005-07-01 07:11:44
you didn't actually break your face did you? If so... how does that work, was it your nose or something? If you cant type.. yes nose etc. means you broke a bone in your face.. and no means you just hurt it okay?
this post makes me look like a small child... my post usefullness is going down hill

As to the face part, I cracked my chin, and took a chunk out of the skin there, so stitches and "don't move your chin" basically. Also swallowed a little piece of my own tooth. The worst part was getting laughed at at the hospital for it. From now on, my hospital explanation is that I was boxing Optimus Prime blindfolded and I gave as good as I got.

If I hear about anyone who knows of this situation taking advantage of it, I will not be happy.
Hopefully you heal up soon!

I guess doctors and nurses need something to laugh at:P They can't exactly point and chortle at the kid with leukimia (sp?) but you're fair game .
Galatae2005-07-01 08:06:59

That's cool. Three cheers for the gods (apart from whoever was the Erinyes when they TDFed me).
Hip hip!

Some people never learn... when you fight with gravity, gravity always wins. Just kidding. Get well soon, and best of luck on everything!

speaking as a person who's broken his left arm on 6 diffrent occasions, his right arm twice, dislocated both knee's and broken his right ankle 3 times, get well soon and keep it elevated!
Maelon2005-07-01 14:15:56
Ouch, hope you feel better. I -promise- not to hunt you down. At all. Until you're well.

Feel better Eldril. As for doctors and nurses making fun of patients, it happens all the time. They especially like to make fun of injuries sustained due to the person being drunk, or by retarded means of attempting to commit suicide. IE - jumping off a 20 foot bridge leg first.

Drunken trampelining at midnight with 3 other drunkards on a 2 person trampeline, at midnight. Broken wrist cracked right through until it sticks out. I got a few laughs for that.
Get better soon, Eldril!

Playing rugby, went to tackle someone, woke up in an ambulance unable to move any parts of my body from my shoulders down, wasn't pleasent, I ended up being ok.
Doctor said to take a few weeks off rugby, but like any good footballer i ignored his advice

Get better soon, I'll hold off on swindling you out of your gold for a while.

Heh, my little brother, when he was around 8, tripped over on his shoe lace and broke his arm. It was the most hilarious thing I ever heard/saw. Of course, I didn't start laughing until he was all fixed up. Being 9 is so cruel...
But then again being 13 isn't that much better, I still tease him about it
Anyways, g'luck with the hand Eldril!
