Hallifax

Back to Common Grounds.

With the reopening of Glomdoring, I think Hallifax isn't too far behind, and I can't wait to see Aeromancers. Woot! So whats everyone think it's gonna be like? What kind of Guardian skill you think they're gonna have? Math? Heh. And will trills and Lucidians be updated with racial stat pluses? What do you think it's gonna look like? And hey who knows, one of the imms may like your idea and use it! Post up!

I think you're looking a little far ahead. It's going to be quite a long time before any new communities open... need more of a playerbase.
Unknown2005-07-08 18:07:38
Yea but it is fun to look ahead, I can't wait! I really wish they would of done that before Glomdoring though.
Anumi2005-07-08 18:13:13
Me, I'm very interested to see how the Illuminati turn out, so it's Gaudigach for me. Plus, even more powerful dracnari! Huzzah!
Unknown2005-07-08 18:14:57
Pehhh, Gaudiguch, Who wants to breathe fire? Not me, it would hurt when you sneezed. Though it does seem like it would be a party town and maybe they will get a tradeskill where they make fireworks like in Evercrack 1.

Our fearless leaders have said pretty much that if we have the playerbase, it'd be a year or two.

I wouldn't bet on ever seeing a fifth city unless we get more people. Aetolia only got a fourth after two or three years.

Imagine the work that goes into a new city, and three new guilds. doh.gif

I know that if I had the resources to learn the codebase I would gladly work on a city, the roombuilding part is fairly easy, and I could probably talk Dr. Reagan into writing it off as a programming project for two of my courses, and besides even if it's not gonna be for quite awhile, it is still fun to talk about.

1. I think most of us would.

2. You're about the 20th thread for this. tongue.gif

Well I dont back read the old threads :-P And I think the player base is growing fast enough, as a matter of fact I helped three brand new novices just yesterday, not alts mind you. But seriously wouldn ANSI fireworks be cool? *NOT!!* Oh well.

There's time where only 15 people are logged onto Lusternia, the average is like 30-50, while Achaea's -minimum- is 90+ people while having up to 700 logged on at peak times and events, I don't think we can support another player-run organization by a long run.
Richter2005-07-08 20:45:42
We lose novices as quickly as we get them. I haven't seen the overall playerbase rise much (correct me if I'm wrong, All knowing Ones).

Thorgal gave a good estimate of what it would be for us to have another city or two.

Nonsense, the average for Lusternia is about 100, with more at peak times and less at off-peak times. Achaea's minimum is about 70, they have only ever had more than 400 online twice, once in the year 350 celebrations and once in the changeover from Sarapis to Maya.

I am entirely not sure where you get these numbers from, but they're way off the mark.
Galatae2005-07-08 21:17:44
I'm looking forward to seeing what Gaudiguch'll be like, myself. It's about time we had a party city!

But meh, as everyone has said, we'd need a much bigger player base... I'd be disappointed to see just one of the two cities come out at a time. I'd love to see them both be released together... but for -that- to happen, we'd have to have the people for two cities.
Unknown2005-07-08 21:22:51
As long as we don't have anymore communes pop up i will be happy. When i was in Glow i got tired of hearing the arguments from sern saying My trees pure yours is tainted then glom say their not and its just anoying. I swear if another commune comes out i say we bulldoze it and put up a lusternia mall. biggrin.gif

I actually don't think this is true. How many where there when the first Dragon was elevated? I recall that being well past 400.
Lisaera2005-07-08 21:37:27
Aringar? There were MUCH less than 400, at that point there were rarely numbers above 200 online ever.

Probably part of it is the fact that QW gives a very falsely low sense of how many people are around, since everyone's off-plane.
