It's being discussed in various forms in quite a few places so I figured I'd make it a topic. I think it is kind of dumb, going up to a mob and saying, hey got a few spare lessons for sale. Totally OOC. But I agree that it would be a crazy moneysink, I also agree that mobs selling credits IC would be a money sink, but it would hurt Lusternia very badly, they would lose almost all their income, and I very much like Estarra and the crew.

Silly idea I feel, and not just because it is bad for business.
Unknown2005-07-11 23:37:44
In all honesty, if we just got rid of a couple people's (It can't all be Richter - can it?), everything would even out, I do believe. I'd like to see from now on people simply saying on market "Selling x amount of credits for x amount of gold - in parts or whole." And simply watching out for people with the sole intent of screwing everyone else.
Unknown2005-07-11 23:40:20
I'd like to see everyone stop buying credits until they fall to a reasonable proce. Power to the people, and all that jazz.
Unknown2005-07-11 23:41:47
Seems like a great idea, cept everyone has alts, but if I bought credits that's how I would sell them and for no more than 4k a piece. That is plenty of gold.
I hope I can buy credits soon.....

Get the word out, and you would. Except, I honestly don't think Richter cares that much. He has absolutely nothing to gain anymore. He has gold, so he buys credits. In turn, he sells them for more gold, which he uses to buy any credits below his, and resell them. In Achaea, this would not work. In Lusternia, there's few big credit buyers that would rival this, for we all know of Richter's unparalleled bank account.
Can't someone just steal his password and have him leave his name painted in fecal matter across the Divine Havens?
Unknown2005-07-11 23:47:21
Oooh I have an idea, lets get him fired so he can't afford to buy credits anymore!

You're the first person to figure out that it isn't just me I think.
And I don't have enough money for credits right now. -And- I stopped playing for a week. Honestly, I think that the average just keeps going up because people keep paying more. The powerbashers buy credits in bulk at any price (believe me) that they find them on the market, and then they buy the next price up. The rate that people are selling lower than the current lowest is less than the rate that people are buying out the credits at the current low, and moving to the next level.
-That- is the problem.

Washington. And I only make $11.25 an hour, so don't get me nerfed.

Muhahaha I earn more than Richter!
Now if only I could bring myself to pour my money into this game, I could control the world!

A good old fashined credit sale tends to fixup the credit market just dandy

Actually, the last time we had one the credit price ROSE. Not sure why that was, though.

Ughh.... So off topic. Oh well. So can anyone think of a nice roleplayable way of buying lessons?

Supply was still less than demand.
Galatae2005-07-12 00:52:00
We have more people now (I'm assuming) than we did whenever this other credit sale happened... perhaps it'd help lower it just a tad this time around.
Eh, we can all dream, right?
As for denizens selling lessons, I don't much like the idea, to be honest.

A roleplayable way of buying lessons?
You go to your guild trainer, pay for a special program, and learn 15 without using any lessons.
But just saying 4K gold for 6 lessons might not be enough. What we want to maintain is a situation where people who have a lot of disposable income say to themselves, "Well, I could earn enough gold to get the couple hundred lessons I need to trans that skill in 10 or 15 hours of play-time, but I'd rather just drop $20 and move on."
Hence my idea that the lessons sold fluctuate based on how many are sold, or you can only purchase 1 neocredit per real life day, or something along those lines.
