Take the "Dante's Inferno Test", and see where you place. See if you belong where you think you should be - at least, for us Sinners. As I said in another thread, I belong in the Second Circle.

http://www.4degreez.com/misc/dante-inferno-information.html

This is a list of the circles, what they are. Get yours in mind, then, on the top left, click "Take the Dante's Inferno Test" link. Take it. For those of you, like me, whom see questions like "have you ever dressed provocatively to attract members of the opposite sex", simply just take it as same sex, whatever. All that fun stuff. Then, let's go a step further, if you'ld like, and tell why you belong where you belong, and why you scored in other sections as you did.

QUOTE
The wretched King Minos has decided your fate. His tale wraps around his body 2 times.
The sweet light no longer strikes against your eyes. Your shade has been banished to... the Second Level of Hell!

Second Level of Hell

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate.

Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Level | Who are sent there? | Score
Purgatory | Repenting Believers | Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo | Virtuous Non-Believers | Very Low
Level 2 | Lustful | Very High
Level 3 | Gluttonous | Low
Level 4 | Prodigal and Avaricious | Low
Level 5 | Wrathful and Gloomy | High
Level 6 - The City of Dis | Heretics | Very High
Level 7 | Violent | Very High
Level 8- the Malebolge | Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers | Very High
Level 9 - Cocytus | Treacherous | Very High

I do not live, nor intend to live, a virtous life. This does not mean I am a thief or a rotten person - I just don't hold virtue high on my priorities. I still stop to help old ladies across the street, I delivered gallons of water through 70 mile an hour winds because there was a sewage wash-back into the pipe-line, and not everyone knew about it, especially the elderly who just sat and stared at the wall throughout Dennis, as they have for every near-miss of a hurricane before him. I believe in living life to it's fullest - at least, as long as I am happy. I do not believe in God, and just hold a distant pity for those whom do. I view religion as the highest form of ignorance and blind hope. I belong in the second circle, undoubtedly. After recent events in my life, I've lost belief in such romantic ideals as love - although I still maintain my hopeless romantic outlooks. I still believe roses are beautiful, and there is a fine difference between animalistic sex and the act of making love - I've always prefered the latter, although the line's become blurred lately.

I don't indulge myself in rich foods, nor wine (although I've started drinking a bit more), nor do I squander my earnings meaninglessly, but I do not horde them, either. I tend more to the Wrathful side than the Gloomy - this is home of the Suiciders and their ilk. I tend to pent up violence for long periods of time, forcing myself to suffer in silence, and build up that hate. I ranked as I did in the City of Dis because I do not believe in God, as well as my aforementioned religious holdings. I ranked high in Violence because I hold the belief that, while war is a futile and idiotic effort, if I must be involved, I tend to stand with "nuke the heck outta 'em. Save all of our boys." Sodomy is what landed me in the Malbolge. As for Treachery, it was really because I held personal advancement above the life of another, extranious person.

So. How did you all score? You don't need to give the same, long rambling answers that I did - I'm just bored!

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Fifth Level of Hell!

Fifth Level of Hell

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The river Styx runs through this level of Hell, and in it are punished the wrathful and the gloomy. The former are forever lashing out at each other in anger, furious and naked, tearing each other piecemeal with their teeth. The latter are gurgling in the black mud, slothful and sullen, withdrawn from the world. Their lamentations bubble to the surface as they try to repeat a doleful hymn, though with unbroken words they cannot say it. Because you lived a cruel, vindictive and hateful life, you meet your fate in the Styx.

Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Level | Score
Purgatory | Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo | Low
Level 2 | Low
Level 3 | High
Level 4 | Very High
Level 5 | Very High
Level 6 - The City of Dis | Very High
Level 7 | High
Level 8- the Malebolge | Moderate
Level 9 - Cocytus | High

Fourth Level of Hell

Just before the river Styx is the Fourth Level of Hell. Here, the prodigal and the avaricious suffer their punishment, as they roll weights back and forth against one another. You will share eternal damnation with others who either wasted and lived greedily and insatiably, or who stockpiled their fortunes, hoarding everything and sharing nothing. Plutus, the wolf-like demon of wealth, dwells here.

... well damn.. I have nothing to stockpile.. wtf? sleep.gif

6th. I thought I'd hit the second, but apparently I'm a heretic. Where's Rafael? Get him to take it.
Unknown2005-07-11 16:50:19
It's not just the greedy, but the prodigal, as well. Do you get payed, then run out and spend it on everything? Do you live, or want to live, an extremely lavish life-style? Do you want the fastest car, the most expensive dress, the biggest diamond?

And, that reminds me of one of my favourite Inferno quotes. "Papa Satan Papa Satan alepi!"

You must not have scored as well on the unf unf questions. I believe homosexuality also plays into the lust factor. One can not be lustful and still be into sodomy - and visa-versa, of course. But you may have denounced God and religion more than you pronounced sexual desires.

And, it's an online questionaire. It is prone to err.

Perhaps you answered on the more virtous side of most other questions, but the need to be pampered ranked high enough to warrant you a place in Hell? smile.gif

I'm curious how you all fared overall - if you fixed this one or two flaws, these traits that earned you your place in Hell (Wrath, Lust, ), would you be placed in Limbo?

I wonder if there's a Paradise test.. Hmm..

6th circle. Well, I do not follow any religion so I sure do qualify as a heretic.

Nope. They've done other tests, and are very good at it. Have you ever read the Divine Comedy? It's actually a farce on the Roman Catholic Church and the Italian gov't at the time, where the Black and White italians were having some form of power struggle, Dante was a Black (I think), and was heavily persecuted. His love, Beatrice, died. His life fell a bit, and the book was written over a long period of time. Many of the characters lost in the Inferno (Italian/Latin for Hell, I do believe) were leading figures of the Whites. If you know the history, it's hysterical. But I'm also a poetry and history buff like that.

Jeez, 8th. I'm not a bad person either.
