Is that mysterious family bug going to be gone sooner, or later? I wanted to make sure, because I'm going to have to change from Carthan to something else, and that's my AIM name, a Deepnight street, all kinds of stuff... Before I start a new family, bond, and propose, I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it when the family problem would be fixed shortly. If it will take a while, I'll have to do the change.

I don't know if it's a bug, but it's definitely a family-related oddity that makes me curious. Hallen was born into the family. Sivriel and I are just first generation members.

Oh, didn't see that. Nothing to offer on the family thing, but have a happy birthday man.

First generation means you were born into the first generation. Since Hallen is inactive, it doesn't show his generation.

The Bug Richter is talking about has to do with people leaving the family and thus the family being stuck or something.

The bug I was referring to was when Aris and I left the Carthan family, so that I could re-found it with Murphy. We couldn't because it was still a family, and I've been told by Shikari and Hector that it's a bug. The family couldn't just be deleted, because they said it was connected to other things.

So, if that's not even close to being fixed, I'll have to choose a new last name. And really, anything other than Carthan just looks wierd to me now. O_o

Why on earth did you leave your family if you wanted the name? You should never do that!

This was quite some time ago (you can see how long Murphy and I have been bloodbonded...) and none of us knew the ins and outs of the family system. Aris and I thought that we could both leave, and being the only two members, the family would dissolve, letting me re-found it with Murphy.

Then came the whole deal where I thought it could just be deleted, and two Divine told me it was just a bug that needed fixed.

It's not a bug. Once a family is founded, it is permanent. If everyone leaves, well, it's simply forever a dead family. I'll make a special exception in this case BUT IT IS NOT A BUG!!

For example, if there were any children born into the family, I would not make an exception, because even if the children had rejected their family, they'd still be born into it and once you're born into a family, that's something that can never change (birth records are permanent).

...You're amazing! Murphy, Titania, and Yukari will now no longer want to kill me, and I don't have to change the name to something that sounds horrible.

And I was under the impression it was a bug.
