Okay, so the Blacktalon have a desk in their guildhall. Yay for them! Well, now that it is required to have a chair and desk to write letters and journals they have an advantage at the moment. Anyways, one of their novices wanted to write in his journal - well, he tried but failed. They tried to write on a letter and it worked. Again and again they tried with the journal, and they failed. They then proceed to call me in and see if I could do anything. Nothing. We have bugged this a couple of times - a whole group of us.
Well, the story basically runs to this request:
Can we get desks fixed please? If we are going to need them to write - we need them fixed like now.

And maybe make another method of wood production available? As in, one available to people other than Glomdoring? The only methods so far are to mulch trees (there are only two trees in the Serenwilde and few people can access those whereas Glomdoring is new so they have many) and to kill ravenwood trees in Glomdoring.

Well Glomdorings is all planted, so we wont have the first part of that in a few days, and anyone as long as they're not enemied can kill Ravenwoods.

Yes, true, but I still would like to see more wood since these desks and tables eat it all up.

Give us forestals a way to break totems down! Wooot!

I think half of Serenwilde should be cut down and turned into desks and tables. It's too big anyway.

I'm only going on estimates, but my math says the entire Basin produces enough wood for four tables, or six desks, each year.
But that's not really to the point. That might be all we need once we have caught up with all the imaginary-furniture we had all along before Artisanry came out, so the question is, are there enough stockpiles of wood built up to make up for the stockpile of need we just got handed? If so, the flow of wood might be able to keep up, just barely, with the flow of wood needed to replace decaying furniture... provided we never need wood for anything else.

Well considering there's nothing against making a total iron or steel desk, you all should stop complaining here and get complaining to your Trademasters.

Steel ranges from 220 to 240 gold per right now. That's going to be one hella expensive desk if it's all steel.

It would be logical to assume that steel, being harder and more durable than wood, would last longer.
I am not if that would actually be the case in practice, but it is a thought.
